I think I have some White Marigold Seeds, let me look and I will let you know.
I don't need anything for them, I can just send them to you, if and when I find them...

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Happyoma, I harvested seeds from my wave petunias last year. Several different varieties. If you are interested, email me for my snail mail & I'll send for an SASE.

You know, a SASE would work the best for me, too.I will send you my address, okay?

Oh Thanks!! My Grand son is so big on gardening now (he is only 3!) he picked out these flowers from a huge reference bok and I thought it would be grand to plant them with him. You guys are great - thanks so much!!

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

That's wonderful! Is Happyoma, Happy Grandmother? I had an Oma & Opa :)

Laurel, MD(Zone 7a)

Yes I am the Oma. My Grandson could sign my name when he was 8 months old! Although I am not deaf I sign and have taught him - he now is in a pre school where they teach signing. (there is a deaf teacher there) and they were so impressed that he was able to sign so well. I was the kind of person that would roll her eyes when some one would start talking about their grandchildren, now my friends run when I open my wallet album of my grandson LOL LOL!!

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

You should be SO proud! Just grab their arms before you open that wallet and hold them tight when you start talking ~ lol :)

Kids are such a sponge for learning when they are younger ~ I don't understand why we don't teach them languages at a younger age myself. I speak limited French and so my son knows some of that. I'd like him to take German when he gets to that level. He's leaning toward the French, though, right now.

Either way, I hope he'll choose one since I feel communication is key in life and having at least one additional language be it signing or another verbal language can only help us as a global people.

It was just nice to see/hear "Oma" again. I lost my Oma & Opa in the seventies. Wish I'd had them longer.

Yes I agree Grandparents play such an important role in the childs life! I am going to Paris in the fall and I am trying to learn a few "get by" words. But my next door says that every one there knows english, in school they have to take it as a second language?? I am going to England to visit my sister and then we are going to Paris on a package 2 nights 3 days. Traveling from the UK is so cheap! We are going by coach/ferry 2 nights 3 days - hotel /breakfast and a walking tour - 159.00 a person!! I couldn't afford to do Paris any other way! It is a big shopping experience for me as it is trying to get the cheapest airfair into Norwich (where my sis lives. I go over once a year and this year my G-son will be four, I can't wait until I can take hime with me!

Oh, that sounds like a wonderful trip ~ do enjoy yourself! Be careful of the muggers in Paris. I was there once long ago and that was the biggest piece of advice I got. I wouldn't carry a purse. Or, if you have to, keep it crossed over your upper body & under a jacket!

Yes, they do speak English, but some are just uppity and show disdain to Americans. I know some people from Norwich that transferred to Cincinnati with Norwich Eaton's merge with P&G. Lot's of nice people :)

Laurel, MD(Zone 7a)

I have a brother that lives in Southhampton England - that area is so different than Norwich. But I just love the old castles and pubs there. Everything that I read says the pick pocket people are every where and that they can take your wallet out of a purse wven if it is zipped! And now you tell me of muggers! I guess I will have to be extremely cautious and tell my Mr he is not carrying a wallet! I will wear a neck purse under a sweater!!

Happyoma, just wanted to let you know I received your SASE and sent you the seeds today. A small delay as I was out of town for a short week. I hope you have success and please let me know your results! The original seeds I bought last year from Pinetree and harvested in the Fall. I hope they do well for you. I will be planting some soon, too :)

Laurel, MD(Zone 7a)

Happyoma, my granddarling gardened with me before she could walk, and later there was no greater pleasure for me than to have her take me by the hand and say "Come on, Poppop, let's do a little gardening." She is now six, and so very happy I am recovered enough to "do a little gardening" with her. She was overjoyed last fall when I went to visit them and I just couldn't resist thinning some canna I planted several years ago. She took the shears and cut through a lot of them, then piled them onto the lawn and plopped down on them, declaring that was her new green bed. She tried to use the spade, but it proved frustrating to her, so she carried chunks of ajuga to a bed I was thinning them to, placing them into the prepared spot with utter abandon. It happens that nothing has grown there successfully and the ajuga is doing well. To her delight. Her Lord Baltimore hibiscus thrills her all summer, and she knows I planted it just for her. She is free to pluck any flower she wants, as I assure her it's good for the plant. Already, when things get tense inside, she will find a little chore in the garden to escape. You have done as I did, given a child something that will last a lifetime and bring joy to many.

What a wonderful story. I used to be the person who rolled their eyes when people pulled out pics of the grandkids and started in with the stories!! LOL But now I am the one that my friends run from when they see my wallet coming out LOL
