'New Ocre' ..Shivering!! And brightening my winter day (o:

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

I posted another photo 'New Ocre' last at the brug database forum.
It is blooming less than a foot from the frozen glass. If you look close you can see Jack
Frost on the glass and the snow outside.

It has been a harsh frigid winter here in the east.
It was blizzard conditions yesterday with temps single digits and wind chills -30F.
But here is 'Ocre' blooming away! Very neat to see like this (o:
A very lovely brug with great fragrance

Alice, It's beautiful. It's great to see blooms this time of year especially with the bad winter everyone is experiencing. Thanks for posting.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Very pretty Alice. I am so glad you have blooms to brighten your day. I will be glad to see mine bloom again.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Alice, it is beautiful. What a sight for such a cold, dreary day. I cannot imagine temps like you are having and you must have a very good heater to keep it warm enough for the brugs.

Montgomery, AL(Zone 8a)

Alice, how warm do you keep your GH?

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Abutilon it is very pretty. I could not imagine having to deal with those kinds of temps. Brrrrrrrrrr.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Lovely - it must be a struggle to keep the heat up in the GH

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Alice, that is beautiful. What a treat to have some blooms right now. Keep the photos coming . . it sure helps.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

This sure brightens up a dark winter day. The shape of the flower looks much like the wild species.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Thanks for sharing, a beauty, so good for sore eyes. Don't see many blooms here, none on brugs, do have african violets, abutilon, Christmas cactus blooming.

Try and stay warm, so glad you do have that stove. Take care of those "beauties".

Gloria

Gorgeous.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

I have 8 blooming right now. Very neat to see.

I have natural gas rights at the farm. I have a new Modine gas greenhouse heater
just up and running beginning this month. Temps are set 55F and 60F.

Plants don't seem to mind. Though not much new growth like warmer temps would give,
they are blooming away!
Brugmansias, canna, abutilons, jasmine, buddliea asiatica ..even the citrus (o:
Great winter fragrances, too (o:

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well I began reading this thread and did not look at the dates, and freaked when I saw Alice say:
"It has been a harsh frigid winter here in the east" I thought what am I flying into! LOL I do not own a coat!!

Oh.. LOL..........and these flowers look so similar. What is the difference between the 2? Are they brother and sister?

Roflol, Kell we do know: You are blond:-) Winter still is coming.

True Ocre is a natural Hybrid. New Ocre is a hybrid made by Dr Preissel HHG.
May be Father and daughter or mother and sun..
brother and sister is impossible.
