Took apart the P&C sport-

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Was able to get three of the suckers off of P&C. They are very tall, almost four feet, should make good standards.
Ignore the white out it was first thing in the a.m. and I'm without coffee and still in my pajamas *yikes* wouldn't dare let anyone see me!

lolol. thanks for the giggle. so you have 3 four foot pieces of P&C? standards? wanna trade?

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Here is the thread Arlene. I wish my P&C standard was that tall. It's only about three feet, but I do have two matching ones. I seperated the sports. They grew straight up, I got two about the same size and two smaller ones.

I also have a extra P&C on it's way to becoming a standard. If you want it, I'll send it to you.

Dummy Jim wants to know what P&C stands for?

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Here is a picture of my P&C standard showing the suckering, this time it has produced another of the same plant. I'm thinking about air layering the extra shoot. It does have some height on it. This standard is going on three years old- from a cutting.

P&C= Peaches & Cream, a variegated brug with white to light apricot turning flowers

Thanks Ludger. I should have figured that out myself. Had one of those old man moments.

Lol,

I believe in help from forumsmembers.

I have a huge P & C also Kristi. It is now one of my favorites! It grows so straight and tall! I bet you get a sucker that gets tall for you. I bet if you planted it in the ground it would get taller. Mine Yed at 4 feet but kept growing tall and now the Y is up at 6 feet. The only problem with it is that it constantly puts out sideshoots from the main trunk and I find I am unable to just pick them off for the compost. I have to let them grow big enough to root. You are going to love this one when it flowers for you!
PS...is that a dog or a pig by your foot?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

lol, thanks for my second giggle ms kell. i thought i saw a black cat helping......

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

kell- not a pig or a dog, it's a kitten with no tail. Picked her up a couple of months ago in Kentucky.
She was going to be dumped at a farm to fend for herself, so flew her and her brother to NJ home with me.
I've never had cats before (as a adult anyway) They are the funniest animals but such a pain in the butt! Always into something.

The bloom I'm waiting on is for the all green shoot that P&C produced. Wondering if it will look like the mother plant? This is the first time I've had a all green shoot come up.

I'm glad you posted those photos. I would never have thought about dividing a brug like a daylily.
Was it dormant when you did this? Did you put it straight back in soil, or did you let the cut part dry first?
I hope you will update us on how the recovery goes.

LOL I just went back and looked again and I swear I see a snout! What a good heart you have! I have 4 cats and could not live without them. Mine has never suckered green. LOL, when it happens in the reverse it is considered a real find! Now I am anxious to see her bloom for you also. Please keep us posted.
