How do you collect seeds from a 'Rubber Tree'?

Not sure about seed, but it air layers easily.

What do you mean? I have one and it is doing good outside one my front porch!

Sorry, I meant to say, I have no experience with growing Ficus elastica from seed. But I do know they can be propagated from air layering.

To collect seed, there must be flowers.

How do you propagate from air layering? And 'Rubber Trees' don't get flowers any of the time! I think?!?!?!?!

Here is how to do the air layering of Ficus elastica. http://www.powen.freeserve.co.uk/advanced/Propagation/Airlayering.htm

My rubber tree is about 4 1/2 feet tall and is beginning to look sparse and lanky at the bottom, besides air layering how can I get it to thicken up, I've heard if I cut the top it's won't grow. Any advice?

Lots of sun!

alot of the leaves are turning mottled yellow and then die and fall off. I have it in a patio window where it gets alot of sun. why are the leaves turning yellow?

Possibly low humidity. What do you think?

sounds good, my apartment is very dry in the winter, thanks for the advice!

by the way, did you know if I can cut the top and use the cutting.
