I just found this plant in the 'cold' room temp. about 55 degrees, three hours of sun a day. I didn't even realise this one was still with me. I thought it never rooted. Anyway it's a double someone from Washington state sent me in the fall. The pattern you see is only on the front of the leaves, no spots- damage or anything on the back. Plant was growing fine and even had a little bud on it.
Not one other plant in this room had any sign of this pattern on the leaves. Regardless, I tossed EVERYTHING in there. It looks to much like a mosaic virus (from photos I looked up tonight) I scrubbed everything in there down with a solution that kills the parvo virus in dogs. VERY strong stuff.
I've checked other plants in the house and haven't found this anywhere else.
Is it as bad as it looks? I've emailed the person who sent the cuttings- waiting for a reply.
I'm SO upset about this.

Help !!!!!! Tell me it's not so.
Kristi...I doubt if there is a double candida in the USA that doesn't carry a virus.....usually won't kill it (they are prone to mosaic virus) it shows up when it gets cool or the plant gets stressed. Not to get all upset about..if it bothers you destroy the plant..but it won't travel from plant to plant easily unless you prune several plants without disinfecting your pruners between plants.I have a candida that has had these spots off and on for years..still blooms well and grows well. :-)
now you tell her Eclipse......LOL!
the same with much european candidas ( especially the doubles)
They seem to survive this virus rather well...but does get upsetting to see it when it shows up. :-)
The old " Tutu " one of the first white doubles somtimes suffers from virus very strong. Much other doubles like Velvet Lady and most Hybrids from Monika and Mme Blin dont show virus or only a little.
i wonder if this is the virus one of our friends said bloodmeal would fix in a hurry? probably so.
Ludger, i love the brugvalley, and i know that it is. did anyone ever translate the article about you in the paper and your 600 brugs?
Arlene, about bloodmeal I dont know anything, sorry.
After I will have finished my first " report" for BGI, I will try to translate the article, sorry I just forgot..

Ludger, i know you have a life! if you like, just tell us what it said. bloodmeal is some kind of by product, people use when planting stuff sometimes. i guess organic nitrogen, just guessing.
Arlene, thanks!
I do know bloodmeal like an fertilizer. I never have heard that it will virus to plants.
No, wrong words, I have heard about such guessings but I donīt believe it.

maybe it's just magic in florida, lol......
Okay, I've been educated about this and do feel better. I'm once again calm and collected, almost! I'm working on it! Thanks for all the advice given here and via email. Kristi
