Stunning color. What variety is this? Hollyhocks are among my favorite plants. I have one that is a burgandy. It would be an excellent compliment with yours. Would love to trade seed.

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply,,,duh! I've been busy in the greenhouse and have old muscles refusing to cooperate this year..I hate getting old.

I also have the deep burgandy,,,but would be more than glad to send you some seed from the rose colored. However, I didn't collect any seed this past year so it'll have to be this coming fall. If we ever have a summer!

I'll keep this post and hopefully won't get *old-timers* disease and forget to collect the seed.

I love hollyhocks,it took me years to find any (i dont know why).I have two kinds, one is what I call traditional the tall variety and the other is like a bush with small flowers.how do i collect seeds from either? I bought two of each and the neighbors dogs dug up one of the tall variety so I now have one and would love to have a patch of them in the butterfly garden my daughter wants.Mine also is the burgandy color.Thank you for any help.

Deb, here's a photo of the seed pods. They're just about ready to collect. This is the taller one, a biennial. If you allow the seed to drop they'll germinate next spring.
