Lionel has been feeling so chic since he got his new collar. Well, after I took the bell off that is. He hated that blasted bell! But now he's getting special attention from everyone because of his new attire and is ready for the runway at the Paris fashion show. The "safari jacket" is another story. I promise to get a picture of him in it, just waiting for the right time. There's been a lot of traffic in and out of my place recently (some of it purely for Lionel visits) and he was getting pretty peaved that he couldn't go out. Every time he scratches and tries to climb the front door I put his safari jacket on him and take him out. And he's mortified to be seen in it. I'm kinda shocked that he's still so docile about me putting it on. He just lays there and grins and purrs through the whole process. He still walks like he has a really soggy diaper with it on but he has no problem walking around in the house. It's when we go outside and someone might see him that he begs to be let back in. A little reverse psychology seems to be happening here. He doesn't ask to go out much anymore because every darn time he does I put that jacket on him, LOL. I do walk with him in my arms outside a couple of times a day and he's totally fascinated by the experience and never once has tried to bolt from my arms. I really can't believe this big strapping cat who can jump four feet in the air after his favorite toy and race around the house at lightening speed, never once tries to escape from me, whether I'm torturing him by poking around his teeth or holding him while there's an opossum at the bottom of the stairs that he sorely wants to investigate. This guy has more personality than all of my other cats put together (and that's saying something, since I've probably had 30 cats over the years). The other night my neighbor's niece was visiting from Texas and I wanted to hear her play guitar and sing (which was awesome!). She's allergic to cats, so we had to go next door (where Lionel could still here us). When the rest of the folks left to go out to dinner, they once more passed through my place on their way out. Lionel just glared at all of us, like "how dare you party without me?" Everyone remarked that he really did look peeved about this. OK, here's a shot taken a few minutes ago of his new "necklace," which, if I do say so myself, looks rather smashing on him. Blissfully passed out next to the computer, here's Lionel.......
