Icicles and Brug house.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

This is the scene when I looked out the window today at the Brughouse. It's so cold this week. Single number daytime temps and below zero at night. Anyone want an icicle

Geez - how are the temps holding up in the GH?

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Think I will pass on this one . . have some around myself. Although the snow is just about gone again around here.Just about time to get dumped on again, the brown ground is showing. But cold we do have . . brrrrrr! I did notice we have a little sun shining out there. Something I haven't seen much here.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh snowwwwwwwwwww!!! this is pretty, but when I think about how it must feel.... brrr!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

This is the first time in a couple of weeks we've had a little sun and blue skies. It seems it snows a little each day.
Liz, the temps stay about the same most of the time. The GH furnace has it's own thermostat. It sure is taking a lot of gas though. :(

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Snow, we are slowly thawing up again. Had the whole last weeks day remp. at -10 and at nights -15 - -18°C.
No, dont want Icicles, LOL!

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Does the cold make you guys bones ache? we haven't gotten to the 60s for a while, my joints hurt! (don't hit me but it's true).
pretty pic, Snow.

Beautiful but it sure looks cold.

Arlene...we are supposed to get an Artic Cold front here by the end of the week how about at your place?

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

yikes!!! sure looks cold...

WOW! I forget what real winter is like. Ours has been so mild. I have primulas blooming everywhere, hellebores are blooming and even a clematis.

I sure wouldn't want your heating bills. My electricity bills for my HID lights are bad enough. And I bought two more today that my friend saw at the Sally Ann. They were such a good price, I couldn't not have them. So I have 2 x 1000 watts, a 400 watt and a 200 watt.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Gloria, i guess it's headed here too. right now the forecast is upper 20s friday and saturday nights, hope that's as low as it gets. glad i have my mini throw up greenhouse! this year will get a real one, DH is starting to insist, lol.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Snow,
I wish you to have enough gas for your heating, hope you will come through this coldness very well.

Please, keep your ice at yours...lol. Monika and me have had coldness enough last weeks...
now it became a little milder.

I hope the sun will shine for you to help cut the heating bill Terry. I know that doesn't help at night, but boy, what a difference it can make in the day time. I love to go out into mine (not heated right now) and sit when the sun is shining. It feel so warm and feels like it goes right to the bones. I would not like having icicles either. We still have no snow.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Snow .. what a beautiful picture. I cannot imagine that kind of coldness and I hope you get some warmer weather soon.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Oh Gloria I am dreading it. 20 is mighty cold. I am praying the heater will keep it warm enough. So far it has. I sure hate to think about getting off work at 3:00 a.m. and having to haul and find a place to put 70 brugs in the house. DH would not be happy!!!!!!!

Donna,
When it gets down into the low 20's I have to have two propane heaters going in my gh....one on each end. It looks like we're going to have a few cold nights here....."Come on Spring".

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

Snow - That is pretty but oh, it makes me shiver!
I think it must be hard to keep that greenhouse warm.
Glory - I am not looking forward to this cold snap, I know all my plants outside will freeze for sure this time.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

We are also supposed to get a cold snap. Tonight and the weekend 15 to 20 below zero night temps. The bad news is the local weather station says next week will bring much colder weather than anything we have seen so far. It's not going to be an easy job to keep it warm. :(
Hope you all in the south make it through the cold snap without too much damage.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh my snow! this isn't good. I hope you don't lose power.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh Snow, that sounds horrible. Wish you guys would move to a warmer climate. Scares me to think what could happen when it gets that cold. Your poor babies might catch cold. Just hope the wind doesn't blow along with the cold temps.

Take care of those babies in the GH. Sure hope everything is ok.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

i'm shivering thinking about that cold, snow. maybe all the cold will at least bring an early spring for everyone. thinking about buying an suv, i'd love to see some global warming.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

hehehe!!!
