iMac/iPhoto problem Darius are you there????

I'm not sure exactly what happened, but when I try to use iPhoto, it comes up and then disappears and i get a message that says it has shut down unexpectantly and this is no way effects the system. I spent 2 hours downloading iPhoto from the apple.com site today, installed it and still get the same reaction. Any ideas?

I LOVE the iMac and OS X is so incredibly easy to use that it is hard to believe it's a computer. The Compaq is still the internet computer, but I am doing less and less on it.
