3-2-1 Lift off? If all goes well.
Getting ready to open after TWO YEARS
Kristi, that is something else....be sure to post when it is fully open. you must have some strong patience, I dont know if I could have waited.
So happy that you are finally going to get to see it bloom. You do have patience!!!
looking good!
Anticipation...............
Does it have a name?
No name- it's seed grown. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that NOTHING happens to the bud. This poor plant has been trying to bloom since late fall. One thing after the other has happened.
Looks like a good one. isn't it fun watching them bloom for the first time?
WOW! Patience is most certainly a virtue when grafting & waiting 2 years for this Brug to bloom. BTW, which Brug is grafted onto the other one? Can't wait to see the bloom when it opens up!
Congrats on your seedling. Its always a pleasure to watch any seedling bloom for its first time. The hard part comes later when you cull them.
Yes Brugmansia- I agree on the culling part. I have to do this with hosta seedlings every year. At first I thought that I could plant them all, you know in the 'back forty'! That got old. So I send them to the compost without a bad feeling at all. I came from a very small 1/4 acre lot. Ever INCH of space counted. If a plant didn't perform well it couldn't have my valuable space.
I'm VERY NEW as in don't know a THING about brugs. But something I would like to see in this plant is interesting foliage- something to see when not in bloom. But I'm a foliage freak!
Shirley- not me with grafting. I'm lucky I can prune correctly.
Kristi
Congrats,I have some I'm dying to see bloom too....
So I know how the anticipation is....
Looks like it will be a nice one. Hope you post a picture when it is fully open and has had a couple of days to get it's color. Glad to see that you can wait. I would have chucked it long ago. I'm not patient.
I have my fingers crossed for you. Hope it turns out beautiful.
