Congo Cockatoo

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I have a few rather large impatiens niamniamensis-congo cockatoo. I REALLY love this plant. But I'm not familiar with shipping this sort of plant. Can anyone help me on how to ship, what's the word?, wet stemmed plants?
Thanks, Liz

oh my goodness.....is this the one that was posted to the PBB yesterday? Where did you find it Liz? Does it grow like other impatiens?

I got it locally Kell - I've had them for a few years. It gets maybe 4ft tall. Cuttings take quite easily.

are they covered in flowers like regular impatiens?

If you're shipping rooted cuttings, do it when they are small and try to set them in the box so they move as little as possible. Ideally, you wouldn't ship them because ther are so easy to break in transit but they are special. Mom cadged a cutting at a flower show last year and it's doing ok but I think it need more humidity that it's getting in her dining room
