Brugmansia x candida "Halo Peach"

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

This beautiful Brug was pictured in the Park's Countryside Gardens Spring catalog. Apparently, it was developed at Park Seed Company. This is the description in their catalog, "...a heavenly burst of soft color and divinely sweet fragrance. Pendant, peach-coral blooms are adorned with a white ring at their base and reach 8 to 10 inches long and 6 to 8 inches wide. The plants, 8 to 10 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide, easily set 100 or more blooms from summer into fall." The price is $19.95 for three plants.

Ok Shirley that's not funny! LOLOL That item is sold out already. Does anyone here have one to spare? Pleaseeeeeee I'm kissin' the moniter.... is it working?

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Since my catalog only arrived today, I find it truly amazing that they could already be "sold out"! Wonder if anyone received their brochure before I did???? Any lucky garderners able to purchase "Halo Peach"??? Hopefully, Park's is maintaining a "waiting list".

I posted this because it was a new Brug to me and I had never seen it mentioned before. I didn't know if anyone else had either.

Sorry to dissapoint anyone, but I guess we will have to get in line for this beauty. Patience is a virtue in gardening :~)

It's possible they haven't got it from their supplier yet. Give them a call... they might be able to tell you over the phone if they'll have it for spring.

I doesn't look like a x candida to me, looks more like an Insignis or Suaveolens type.

(Zone 6a)

Doesn't look all that special to me.....plenty of nicer looking brugs on the market.

Do you sell brugs, brugcrazy?

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

That's a wonderful idea Poppysue. I'll do just that!

Brugcrazy - That was the way it was listed in their catalog. I typed it word for word.

Rose Hill, NC(Zone 8a)

I saw sold out too.
but tried it any way and it worked.
the squeeky wheel gets the grease>

trying to get up with the grower also.

Shirley, a lot of catalogues have brugs misidentified. It is not the right shape for a x candida. Just letting you know so you won't be disappointed later.

Owen, I wholesale brugs to quite a few specialty nurseries. Just enough to help support my habit.

These are the same brugs you see in EVERY garden catalog each spring,,white this, yellow that, etc.they buy 1000's of cuttings from suppliers..one of which is a friend of mine in Texas...she sells 10's of thousands of cuttings each year to growers around the country...she sells them as yellow, white, dbl white,pink,peach..no names..the seller usually names them.I really doubt that Parks hybridized these plants. Many retailers name un named brugs for the advantage of selling them. This one particular plant could be either an Isabella clone or a frosty pink clone. And its not a candida. She has sold many this winter to Tea's Nursery in Houston,

Interesting

the truth is out and thanks Eclipse! so I guess there are much better ones to salivate over!

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Yes, I thank you too Eclipse. Perhaps the "sold out" sign for B. "Peach Halo", was really a blessing in disguise! You learn something new every day!

Dripping Springs, TX

Eclipse--I checked teas' website no luck yet. Does your friend only sell wholesale or is her nursery retail also?

Kyle,
It looks like either one of those to me too.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

DR..she is in La Porte Texas..she would probably sell some at the farm. Email me for details. :-)
