Question to all

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Do you like this flower?

Monika gave this Brug to me.
I am making my pollinationplans for this spring. Shall I pollinate this brug or not. I am not shure.
If, I would pollinate with Versicolor or candida.
What do you think?

I like the color. Does it bloom frequently....fragrant?
If it has good characteristics I would pollinate it or else use it as a pollinator.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

It has a nice smell. And is blooming well.

Rapid City, SD(Zone 5b)

I like the shape most of all. Candida :)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Nice flower. Of course, I would pollinate it for sure, but would use something with color probably and not a versicolor. That is just me...this is your baby to do with what you think would work best for you. Bet you come up with a beauty, whatever you decide to do.

Rose Hill, NC(Zone 8a)

I would have to cross her with my V."wild type single" species
come summer I will send you a cutting
very heavy bloomer and nice perfume.
she never does the same color thing in a rush.

plus do some other crosses too..

keep us posted

Ludger, I would definitely pollinate this brug. But I would use some aurea pollen on her, maybe Bert. Do you have any of Bert's pollen?

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Beautiful shape! Yes definately pollinate!

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

I love the shape, Ludger. I don't know anything about anything, so wouldn't presume to make any suggestions. What size is the flower?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I love it, the color is right in my favorite range. Hope you pollinated and get something really nice.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Ludger...Use Aurea Orange if you have it...stay with the orange/gold colors... :-)

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Ludger, i just love that flower! the petals look more separated than some, is it my imagination? i think i could be perfectly content with whatever you guys in European decided to put in the compost!

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

You got me,lol.
OK, I will pollinate with an aurea.
Eclipse, you are right. I will stay with orange/gold.
I have some golden and orange aureas and aureahybrids like Erny and Bert.
The crossings Monika must name, she gave this brug to me.

PSST,be silent, she do not like this brug really...she knew that I am collecting Versicolorhybrids and said to me: OK, take this brug if you like it.
I did and all brugchildren I will share with her.

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

Have no insight into the pollen issue, but WOW I love the shape of that flower, very --how can i say this?--very simple, and without sophistication. Its understated. the fading of the color is nice too.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Ludger, i think we were posting at the same time. is it my eyes again, or are those petals really separated, more like an arborea? i love the color. looks like a perfect brug to me!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I can't be any help to you Ludger - my monitor makes this one look like a pink arborea. LOL

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

What a lovely bloom. I like the soft delicate shading. Very nice!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Arlene, it does look like the petals are separated. It's a beautiful shape.

Another beauty.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I love the flower shape. It looks like a star.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

what does it look like from the side??

I love that star too. Its a beautiful one *lol* It look very much a colored arborea from that position, but can that be? Please, don`t answer this :) Monika and Ludger, do you think the star shape will move with the cross? If the orange/peach cold be more red in a new cross and the lighter parts pure white it would sure look like the Danish flag *lol* However, I think the name DF was taken for a Petunia with red/white stripes :)

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I love the shape and the color, almost looks striped

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Here is a "look" from the side.

that is beautiful!!!

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Wow Ludger, that is really pretty.

"down the Shore", NJ(Zone 7a)

Beautiful flower, Ludger, why not pollinate it and see what happens?

Tonny, the name 'Danish Flag' could be used for a Brugmansia if there is not already one; doesn't matter if there is a Petunia. There are a lot of daylilies and hostas, for example, with the same cultivar name. Anyway, there is already a Poppy called 'Danish Flag' too!

Thanks for the info John :)

"down the Shore", NJ(Zone 7a)

You are very welcome, Tonny!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

OK - now I can see the versicolor. I really like versicolors. Can you cook me a red one Ludger?
