Yesterday We went for a ride around here and I saw a brug in ground that are next to the house. They are several blooms and healthy green full leaves. I said myself, How lucky it survive through the cold weather. They did not put cover it. Just leave it alone! One of my brug in ground, they are sending new leaves and still stand up high. Even one of my Datura sprouted some new leaves. I left it outside and forget it. All my other brugs are still under temp. greenhouse. This winter season, I notice, it was not too cold as it used to be. Yesterday, it felt like SUMMER! My kids wore short, shirt and barefoot. What a weird weather here in Louisiana!!!
Brugs in Southern LA
Lucky you Mini. Send a little of that heat up here. It's supposed to be really cold up here this week. 0 to -10 for night time temps and in the teens for day time temps.Counting the days till summer.
Snow,we belong down there,me, you and poppysue should migrate.....LOL
Snowbirds......
YES CC!!!! It's already been colder the past two months than it was ALL of last winter. I think I'll go with the Canadian geese next year. They're a lot smarter than me.
LOL Mini, I thought for a minute you were vacationing in Southern Los Angeles. Hope you are feeling great!
Mini my monster brug and both whisker are growing up through the leaf mounds on them. We are having a warm winter thankfully. I thought we were going to have a bad one based on some of the birds I have been seeing. I went to Sheburne wildlife management area and Lake Martin in Beaux Bridge last week. It was really beautiful and I got 2 new life birds so I guess it was worth the 4 hour drive each way. Plan on going back in a few weeks when duck season ends and again in late spring. How far are you from there?
lol Kell.. Yes not in Los Angeles.. It is Louisiana! LOL
Minishnuz,
Lets see...I've seen a yellow unknown hybrid blooming at the RiverWalk in San Antonio Texas....thats it for me. But on a positive note, I have a few of my own that are rooting quite well thanks to Tig. I always feel lucky to have Brugs blooming outside in the winter months. Ahh, and one loan seedpod that I happened to pick off of one of my own hybrids just a bit too early. Well, way to early. Seeds are clearly too small. Overly eager as they say.
