I've been perusing my catalogs almost to the point of abuse. I have tried to narrow down what I want but there are 10 items in Wayside's catalog alone that I want. Well, since everything has to be tolerant of at least some shade, but in most instances half shade to full shade, I will appeal to all you wonderful and generous people first. I DO have one steep bank coming up my driveway that gets mostly sun and am trying a few things there too.
I especially would like the Giles Van Hees Veronica (Speedwell), some violas, especially "Etain." Now I know this is asking a lot, but I would love that huge white Cardiocrinum giganteum. It gets about 10 feets tall and has trumpet blooms. I would also love a start of Ligularia, "The Rocket." The other one that is calling to me is Cimicifuga (bugbane) "Hillside Balck Beauty" and some foam flower. I will list these on my trading list. I will have some ajuga and a couple of Maltese Cross to trade; perhaps more things as the season goes along.
wish list growing for shade plants
er, I'm also looking for a foam flower called Pink Bouquet and some Persian Shield. Can anyone help?
I have persian shield and can root cuttings to send to you in spring if you'd like? Let me know :)
Katrina
Oh, Persian sheild is awesome. A fellow DG-er sent me some this past year and it's stunning. That's nice of you to offer to root some, PD.
I failed to say that I have Creeping Jenny and ice plant I can trade for any of the above. I am also interested in growing Itea (Sweetspire) "Little Henry" if any of you have that.
Woodspirit1 - I have Itea (Sweetspire). Mine is called "Henry Garnet" and a smaller sized one is "Sarah Eve". Is that what you meant? I'll be happy to send you some either now or in the Spring. PLMK. Shirley
