sunshine for sase?

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

Was chilly this afternoon at first, but went out n filled my little labeled cups and planted up some datura and brug seed that I fully intend to hide from my evil cat. I had on my favorite worn out black t-shirt, and I could fee the sun on my back---sighhhhhhhh:). Gonna go out n move some roses around to make homes for my brug cuttings this spring. I know roses n brugs might not mix,--but if you dont tell Martha,--I wont either. For all of you in snow plow land---:S would send you some sunshine for sase if I could. Cheryl

Arlene Im bettin you have a pretty high humidity in the summer there too, can you tell me a good repeat blooming climber that you dont have to spray constantly?? I grow alot of tea roses and I spray alllllllllllllllllll the time. our local walmart had a hail storm and all their roses went for 1 dollar. I planted 30 (took two trips) and over half of them are teas.:S now i fuss n cuss n sprayyyyy! I want to rip up these once blooming climbers on my porch,---they take up too much space for a one time show. Any ideas?

yes it's humid! in the summer i can stick any old piece of a brug and it'll root.
i have champney's pink cluster which is a rambler, new dawn, and a small red they call alachua red climber, named after the little city/county, nobody knows where it came from. they are all good bloomers. the blooms don't last as long and most don't do well in vases.
old roses don't get black spot, maybe a little mildew on the leaves. i never got around to doing cuttings this last year.... old garden roses root easily too.
i think these are all good ones. this spring i'm gonna root some of all my roses!
$1.00 was a good deal.

They sucked me in with the dollar hybrid teas------but they make up for it in rose spray revenue I promise:(

that is exactly why every year I say I will plant no more roses but then bareroot season is here and I find myself at the nurseries looking at them all. I just bought 4 more and I have NO room. I wish I could understand that!

Kell I have a David Austin "mayflower" coming in march as a christmas present. Its suppose to be blackspot and mildew proof(lololol) will do my best to root some cuttings n send them to you if you want them. I love David Ausitn roses,---but darn he never has a dollar sale....:(

I had to do away with all 20plus rose bushes last spring. I am allergic to the fungicide spray. It only took me 10 years and many trips to the dermatologist to finally figure that out. Thats ok tho because brugs are much let trouble.
