Dormant brugs waking up

Frankford, ON(Zone 5b)

HI everyone,

My dormant brugs seem to be sending up shoots now, do I keep them in the cool dark room or do i start them growing again this early since they are thowing up shoots and leaves now?
Thanks
Crys

I would let those grow. They are too small to go dormant. Large trees can go dormant but young cuttings or young plants shouldn't go dormant. JMHO

Jeanne you are right.
Crys let them grow in a bright not real cold room.
Your babies look very good but too small to go dormant now.

You new subscribers are driving me bonkers.....where are you from? Can put it under your name, unless you don't want us to know???

Your plants are looking good! Lots of luck with them, won't be long before you will be "needing" more.

On the right side of this screen under "About You" click on change. On the next page click on location and put the information in there. At least, I think that is what that's for.

My town is about 4000 people now. How big is yours? I might give you a run for your money on who lives in the sticks......I came from a town about 7 miles from here that has about 500 people in it. Actually, we live in the country, and it is the sticks!!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Thats too funny,I live in a small town now but the town I grew up in had 4,000 kids IN OUR HIGH SCHOOL!
My graduating class had over 900 kids.......

Playsndirt, that is so cute, don't we all, play in dirt? Thanks to all who helped her, anxious to know where everyone is from.....gives you an idea of weather etc. Brugs inside or safe out.

Not bonkers anymore. ha

we dont have a town--or a post office, or a mayor for that matter...we are like a farming community our houses are scattered far apart--its called Heafer. Its pretty dull here, but no crime---except those darn vandals leaving squash and okra on your door step when you "go to town" Im not sure aobut the population--our water comes from one town--our mail from another. We are so far out in the sticks, I have to import children for my kids to play with.

Gosh, I'd love that. I guess I like being by myself a lot. Love to have company too, but wore that out over Christmas. Gosh, I'm one of those people always trying to find someone to take the extra vegies. Never though of just dumping them off and running for my life.

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

you know brugie---thats a federal offense its vegtable abandonment. You just cant toss that homeless and often hard as a rock okra---you have to cut it all up n freeze it. It doesnt matter if no one likes okra--or if you are out of freezer space or if they gave you 3 grocery bags full!!! The only alternative is to cruz down the road n look to see who's not home so you can play tag--- your it!!!

Boy, I'm going to try it next year. I had so many cucumbers and squash this year that I couldn't find enough people to come and get them. Next year, they won't know what hit them. LOL!!

Wow, now that's a great custom! I think I will start driving around the small towns here and see if there are any orphan sacks of tomatoes, cukes and okra....

Frankford, ON(Zone 5b)

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the quick replies. They have been ( i guess) semi dormant since I brought them in in the fall, early october to be exact.
But.... I will bring them up and get them growing again.
The one towards the back is about 4feet tall, is that still called a baby?
Oh and Hibiscus, I mean not to drive you crazy , I will fill in my info.
I am from Ontario, Canada and I live outside a small town that only has 1200 people. Rural canada:)

Here is a pic of some of my garden, I need to look at them to remind me that this darn snow will go away eventually:)
