brug envy

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

spent the morning surfing old posts and looking thru old pics, and drinking waaaaaaaaaay to much coffee. Now I have acute brugitis. I realize I am new to this forum, and Im afraid if I ask for seed for sase, or cuttings then you will think Im a greedy weasel who covents your brugs. Well ok---:S but I also covent your info to care for them. So ummmmmmmm if any one has some extra seed or cuttings I would be really happy to send you an sase plus lots n lots of extra stamps for your own seed or cutting swaps. I realize this isnt a temping trade but.....:( its all I have to offer. Wonderful mutt brugs are not shunned here. Thanks one way or another. Cheryl

Paxton, FL(Zone 8a)

Don't worry, Cheryl, you'll probably be swamped with offers. Some may wait til spring. Seeds are harder to come by I think. When I get through shipping the ones I have on my list, if I still have any, will let you know. I probably will have some Dr. Seuss left. I'll see. Welcome to DG. You'll love it.

Awwww thanks gingerlily I felt sorta torn between brug envy, and not wanting ppl to think I was a gimme gimme weasel...:( --(does that make sense?) I have personally had to make a trip around the block the first time I saw a brug in full bloom. The most exotic thing ppl grow around here is double hollyhocks. lolol (dont get me wrong I have those too) Would love to screen the front of my house with a variety of brugs. as much for the privacy as for the non-privacy!!! Hey Playndirt...... am planning to plant lots of double holleyhocks myself this summer.......LOL! I have 2 vases full of logees golden lady and double white new cuttings and will be happy to throw in a CG and broadway pink. Do you need them all rooted? I will also have tons of seeds too as soon as my pods do something! LOL I just found 3 more pods the other day so I am waiting on about 20 I think if not more.

Hey Kell, do you have any seed from that beautiful red hollyhock? Maybe you know where I can order some.......Since I can't use my email program right now, I'm here, begging in public.....

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

rooted cuttings are too much to ask--feel kinna like a leach to ask for unrooted cuttings, or seed for that matter..:S but wow they are soooo pretty. I would be estatic to send anyone the bubble package envelope, stamps n whatever else it takes to send seeds/or UN rootedcuttings my way. Would like to make it as low maitanence as possilbe for anyone with a little to spare and in a generous mood. Thanks Kell just let me know when to send and where to send.

Welcome to DG, playsndirt! You will love it here. I feel like I have found so many freinds! Really, they are more like family. If you have a problem, someone will know the answer. I love hollyhocks, especially the doubles. I had them when I lived in Colorado, now I'm in Florida and starting all over on plants and flowers. Hopefully I will be able to trade things soon. You will find everyone is very generous here so don't be scared to ask!
