I have noticed that some seed pods sometimes produce different sized seed and some seeds germinate as much as 6 weeks to 2 months later than others, from the same pod, when planted at the same time.
My question is:
Does the difference in the seed size and/or the length of time to germinate indicate that the hybrids may have more characteristics of one parent than the other?
I have too many seedlings started from one cross and I am trying to figure out a way to reduce the number and still try to get the best chance of different hybrids. I don't really care which ones they turn out like, I just want the best chance at a variety in my limited growing space.
A question about seeds.
gonna guess here, pros will be by soon. eric says the seeds look like the mama. i know that isabella seeds are really small, aurea are bigger. and i believe Monika said that you can't tell how a seed will turn into a seedling by it's size.
Eric would also pick the fastest growers to keep, he plants them close together and sees which ones survive.
