Jessie Noel pod picked up!!!!!

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

I went and checked on pod.. it was drying up as it hanging on Jessie Noel. It was cracked and drying up. I picked up and let it dry two more days and opened it and spread the seeds. They look so healthy seeds! I counted over 30 seeds. There's several big seeds!!

They are Jessie Noel X ??? ( might be frosty pink, Junter orange, S white, Pale Pink). It was pollinated by Hummingbird moth at night.

good for you Mini. Wish my pods would change............ they have looked the same for months. Yours is so brown, mine are so green! I guess I have a long while to go yet.

Kell.. Yes, I have waited on that pod for over 6 months. I checked daily for color change. LOL.. When I checked few days, It was cracked line.. I left it alone until the color change to brown then I picked it up. Be patience!! Soon it will happen! :o)

I have been wondering about the different sizes of seed in the same pod.
Could it indicate a difference in the hybrid that that particular seed will produce from the cross? [I.E. large seeds may be more like the Jessie Noel line, the smaller ones more like the daddy for instance]

Thanks Mini for the encouragement..... I sure hope the time will come!!!
RA49, I wish I knew but I would tend to think it has more to do with the seeds' placement and how many nutrients they receive.

Hope you and Kell both have good luck with your seeds. It is such a challenge to grow from seed and then have to wait and see what you get. Can be very rewarding too.
