Easier than Pie

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I'm not a fan of pies and even less fond of making them. My friend gave me this easy recipe and raved about how good it is. I tried it for Christmas dinner and the family loved it. It makes its own crust as it bakes so you don't have to hassle with rolling out any dough.

Swedish Apple Pie

Slice peeled apples (about 6 or 7) into a greased pie dish. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of sugar, combined with with 1 tsp of cinnamon over the apples.

In a seperate bowl combine 1c flour, 1c sugar, 1 egg, and 1 stick of melted butter. Pour the batter over the apples. Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes until the top is a light brown. Cool and serve with vanilla ice cream.
