This new and unknown (to me) cultivar throws randomly striped flowers.
Red and White
WOW! Pretty, what is it even close to? Like a hollyhock?
Oops!! Sorry about that...this is a Pelargonium (aka Geranium) I thought I wrote that in the first entry
That's a neat looking Pelargonium. Wonder why you call them Geraniums? It's really confusing.
I don't know why they're called Geraniums but I've always known them as that...they're sold as that in all the stores around. Never knew they weren't til I joined DG...and watched Mark's hair stand on end!! LOL
I'm not a geranium fan but must say I like this one
Pelargoniums are really popular here in California and I've never seen one like yours. Maybe you have a new sport you can name! It's really pretty. Are the leaves just the usual green, or are they variegated in any way?
Where did ya get this one from ? and you and Jo found it where where where?!?!?!
Katrina
I think it's a new hybrid. I saw one the other day much like this one but more white than red. The leaves and coloration are normal. It has been a great plant so far and is blooming like crazy right now. I did bring it in when it got to freezing last week.
Where did you get it at?? do tell
Katrina
I'm not sure...possibly Home Depot or Walmart or one of the local nurseries. The whiter one was definitely at Walmart last weekend. Can I root cuttings?? Is there a better way to propagate it? Sorry Katrina I didn't see your previous post...Jo and I hit *lots* of nurseries when she was here!
ahhahah i must keep an eye out for them :) umm I believe geraniums are easy to start from cuttings, but not really sure :)
Katrina
Actually I don't know *what* I was thinking. My mom had some she pruned back and just stuck the cuttings back in the ground. She filled an entire big border in 2 years then pulled them all out.
