has finally bloomed even in the cool temperature of the GH. I'm sure in the summer it will be darker.I lost two large buds but this one hung on.It's got six tendrils.
Pink Beauty
Snow, she is pretty even tho light in color. I'm sure that the one I have is different. Never had the tendrils that look like yours. Just straight, but long. I'm so glad I brought my White Pearl X Big into the house. It is starting to leaf out nicely now. HG looks like it might not make it and my Butterfly isn't looking good either. Funny how they do well for a long time and then just kind of wither up and croak. Glad you are still having bloom. Hope the weather isn't too bad up your way. We are still waiting for moisture of some kind. Will take it any way we can get it right now. Supposed to be in the 50's today again. Makes me have spring fever. Should have put this in an email. Sorry folks!!
no, don't put it in an email!! we all need something to read and think about! I think a lot of us are going to be trading again in the spring to get back what we lose this winter :(
tiG, are you having trouble with cuttings and seeds too? This is the worst year I've ever had, not that I've been doing it all that long.
I've lost some special cuttings, and some aren't looking too good. My seeds aren't doing anything, I have one. I'm planting more today that I let soak yesterday, they are beautiful seeds from snow.
I did a lot better last winter, I had seeds everywhere. But I did start most of them on Jan 1, so I'm going to do that again this year.
I really and truly think it is bugs in the soil, chewing on plants, etc. By the time you see a plant is in trouble, start putting everything in dirt and spraying. Everything that has worked, doesn't. TOO LATE, plant keeps going downhill. Have lost about 5 Passion Flwrs, couple brugs.
Sorry Terry, got carried away! Your bloom is beautiful.

Terry, this looks like mine except for the color, which I'm sure is because of the weather. I can't get mine to bloom in the house (okay, had two blooms), mine seem to be just barely hanging on!
I have never had the trouble with keeping brugs alive as this year.Seedlings are fine then just croak overnight...large plants start dying back then give up the ghost...have lost many cuttings I got this fall.If I didn't want any new plants ALL the cuttings would thrive..so chalk it up to just being a bad brug year everywhere it seems.
:-)
Sad to hear Kyle, but glad to hear that it isn't just some of us having the problems. Experts have trouble too. My seedlings are doing okay, just upsets me that the percentage that have germinated is very low and in some cases, nothing.
Guys, i'm pretty sure Snow got this pink beauty from me, so it is like mine!
it is pretty snow. i had a baby bloom in late november, was lighter but not that light.
Terry, my first seed poked through the ground today. Butterfly X Whiskers. Maybe I'm going to have some luck afterall. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thankfully everything I have rooted and potted up is thriving in the GH but the HG and Snowbanks don't seem to like being inside at all. Question?? How long can you keep cuttings in water. Everything I got from Larry are still in water for a month now and are doing great. They all have nice long roots and I change the water every 3 days. I have no room in the GH and was wondering if I could keep them going in water until late febuary as the brugs I have inside don't seem to like it. Do I need to add diluted fertilizer to the water??
Shirley, So glad you have something sprouting. All my crosses so far have started to pop up except for the EP cross which is slower. I dug up a seed to see why they didn't come up and they are just starting to sprout under the soil.I did notice the Butterfly x Whiskers has a much thicker trunk on them than the other crosses so I'm hoping it will be a strong plant.
I went out tonight in the GH and checked the tags on this PB. Shirley, this one was from you. The one I have from Arlene is starting to Y so I will be able to compare the two.
Arlene, Your Creamsickle is really starting to take off and it's turning into a beautiful plant. Much thanks to both of you.
Snow, I guess that it means for sure that the PB I sent you blooms differently in many different conditions. Mine looked nothing like yours in shape. I'm glad it bloomed though. It would be originally from Barb. I'm still waiting to see CC's PB bloom. It was just getting buds when the cold weather hit and they all dropped.
Brugie, we'll have to see what it looks like in the summer. It could be because the GH is really cool. Now I can't wait for Arlene's to bloom and compare the two in the same climate. I think the warmer the temperatures the deeper the color is.
Its leafing out and getting new buds......
can't wait,even butterfly has finally y'd!
Snow, the cutting i sent you came from Barb also......
CC, congrats, hope you have lots of blooms soon, waiting on the pics.
CC, I hope you soon have a GH full of blooms.
Arlene, I won't have to compare now. They are both the same then. Now I know why it was named Pink Beauty. It sure is.
