my pod........is it ready for plucking??

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

There are a lot of pods on this tree all about the same age, and one has split I just noticed but all parts are still green and the pod itself is hard. Do you think it is ready to pick? What about the others which have not yet split but are the same age? thanks

I'm no expert, but I'd say it isn't ready yet. Too green and probably too hard. When mine were ready to pick, the seeds felt like they could be moving around inside the pod, like they were loose. The peduncle was yellow and the outside of the pod on some had turned brownish black while others were still a green color.

I found one today that split too and the seeds are real small. any way to keep it going?

Try that liquid bandaid. Might just work.

mine split is a little wider than kell's. that was my first thought, but didn't know if it was too big a split. will give it a shot.

Guess you could use some Red Green duct tape. Might never be able to get it off the pod though. :-)
