Where's everyone?

Hello....anyone out there?

I was just wondering if there was a party going on and no one told me about it. Let us know how your Christmas went.

Yesterday was great here in the deep south..little cool but still nice.... Santa was very good to me. I went out to the GH and there was one lonely Brug blooming but everything looked great.
DS and DIL fixed dinner yesterday and that was great....I could get used to that. We came home and watched the movie "The Green Mile".....nice day.

I am about half here:) Need to go to the store and replenish my bourbon supply. LOL

Just checked on my brug seeds.....still nothing sprouting. Starting to think the seeds are no good. Oh well, will just leave them on the furnace vents all winter I guess:)

Still getting over the hustle and bustle of Christmas here. We got a record snowfall yesterday..... 16 inches. A white Christmas is nice but think we ended up with a little more than we bargained for!

Probably out shopping Glory! Not me, I want less these days, funny how that works. Every 10 years in your life seems to alter your desires and needs.

We had a great day. T is home and sure makes us smile!

Hi Glory,

We had a great day with Jim's family. Came home and crashed. Was so tired after Christmas Eve here and then being with them all again the next day. Food was great, I toasted Hibiscus, and got nice things from everyone. I'm like Kell........just don't want as much as I used to. As long as I have my family, friends, flowers, and computer, I'm a happy camper.

It was such a glorious day I went birding watching till late afternoon and got some nice shots. Then went to Boom Town since there was no where else open to get something to eat and made a nice donation to them before I left lol. When I got home had a zilloin messages from DD wondering where the heck I had been all day.

We had a wonderful Christmas eve with DD and the grand kids. Yesterday was a horrible day as DH came down with a bad case of the flu and was in bed all day. Had to cancel dinner at our house. Thank goodness it is a 24 hr bug as he had to go out today and snowblow through 14" of snow. Besides him being sick it was a nice Christmas.

Had probably one of our best Christmases ever. Went to GD house early and then they came over here and stayed the night. I cooked a big dinner, that's one of my favorite things to do for holidays. They're gone, we have crashed all day, especially after eating turkey for lunch.
Owen, I'm with you, I have one seed sprouted, about to get discouraging!!!

We have had a wonderful christmas. I prepared a large christmaslunch for whole family. Turkey, goose, potatoes, rice and different vegetables. We started lunch with a good soup.

After this meal we spent some hours drinking coffee and red wine from France. We watched old familyphotos.

Today I had free from work, too and spent the whole day caring my brugs and harvesting seeds (finally)

Had a wonderful Christmas Eve with Mike's family, great food and lots of goodies. Woke up to 8" of fresh new snow Christmas morning. Spent the morning with DS & DIL and grandkids. They are so much fun right now. Lost my eye glasses I think in a snow pile while shoveling off the deck or chasing after the dog, so off today we went so I can see to read again. Not what we wanted to do today. Staying home would have been really nice.

LOL Deb........ I would have sworn you were about 36 years old! I picture you being young, very pretty and very efficient in a great house that looks out over a picturesque pond with lots of ducks to entertain you!

Went shopping yesterday and with daughter and grandson. Had a great day. Not much free time with one year old in the house. Haven't had time to work in greenhouse. Have tons of cuttings to pot up. Hope to get some work done today.

We had very quiet Christmas holidays.

A somewhat quiet Christmas here too, but Lene came home a couple of days before, so it was the best Christmas gift I could ever want. Lenes oldest son Simon was here on Christmas eve (evening of Dec. 24 in North Eur.). The day after her sons Thomas and Christian visited for a couple of days and left for home this afternoon. We waited to unpack Christmas gifts until Christian and Thomas was here, but on Christmas eve we had roasted pork and duck, white and sugar roasted potatoes with ribes jam. It was my first year as Christmas cook on my own and I must say, that it could have been worse *lol* After dining we spend the evening playing with the dogs, talked and watched a few good old american black and white movies. Now the hollidays are over I look much forward to put up shelves in the WG north windows. The first seedlings of the season is coming up and I need to create room for the ones that will follow.

Tonny, i am glad lene is home, is she feeling better? please explain the white and sugar roasted potatoes with gibes jam. and please tell me what B&W movies you watched. we watched it's a wonderful life and since you've been away... that movie always makes me cry.

Arlene, white potatoes is only peeled and cooked, but the brown you make by melting first sugar and when its light brown you ad margerine and then cooked and peeled potatoes. It taste wonderful to duck. Funny, we watched the same movie that evening and probably shedded a tear over exactly the same scenes in that good old movie *lol* Its a wonderful life. I saw it first time as a kid and loved it ever since.
