Can anyone tell me what to do about a split leaf (monstera) now several years old and about 4' high growing in a large container under a skylight (indoors). Fronds show brown tips and new growth is sickly and also turning brown at the tips. It gets bright light but not direct sun. I have tried not to over-water, waiting until a probe shows the soil is fairly dry before watering again (with distilled water, to avoid mineral buildup). Any advice will be appreciated.

I've got one,it's kicking out a new leaf today,I can't seem to keep enough water on mine,I bottom water, sounds like you may need to repot into fresh soil, has it been in same pot long?
Most likely one of 2 things.
One is the humidity is too low, that is commonly why plants develope brown tips. Another is over fert. You didn't say how you fert, but you may need too leach the pot every so often, if you think that may be it.
I was taught to never trust those probes, but rather get used to feeling the soil, and judging by the weight of the pot.
Good luck.
