Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Lisa, you little girl looks just like one of those beautiful porcelain dolls.
Yesterday was the last day this year for legal deer hunting. There was a 4 day season from the 19-22. Nothing until yesterday morning about 9. Then we got 2. One nice large button buck and a good size doe. I still have the rib cage of the doe to work up. I just quit about 8 last night. The birds will have more carcasses to clean up now. They have stripped the last ones clean. I think this makes about 10 for this year. I was really praying for a couple more last night, but unless they bring them to us this morning it won't be happening. I'm so grateful for the ones they did bring to us. It will be a big help to some who are stuggling to keep meat on the table during the year.
I have been leaving the sprinkler on day and night lately. Yesterday morning we got up to a winter wonder land in one area of the yard. Even during the day yesterday as long as the water was spraying it was freezing on fenceing, trellises, and plants. The hunters ask me how we got all that ice in one or 2 beds.
My bosses did a lot of remodeling at the cafe' and gave me the leftover drywalling. Shad put it in the biggest waterhole in the drive. Jack says it is breaking up with the vehicles driving over it but needs to be rained on really well to do what we want it to do. I may get a few big bags of kitty litter to add to it to see if we can't fill up that hole better. Gravel just disappears every few years and the hole is bigger than ever. I tell everyone we are either building a mountain on the other side of the world or fueling hell or a volcano.
Hopefully I'll get the house at least somewhat cleaner today and tomorrow. I still haven't brought the tree down from the attic. Maybe I'll be ready by Wednesday. Kris & Cindy will be coming for breakfast and gift exchanges Christmas morning. Shad went up to his mom with Kyle this morning and will come back with her and Cindy that morning. Since Kris and her husband both have to go to work Thursday so he'll stay here again.
Have a wonderful Christmas everyone. JESUS loves you. GOD bless and keep each and all of you.
