Hedychium germination?

I have a few luscious red berries on my Hedychium densiflorum 'Assam Orange'. Presumably these will have seed inside.
Does anyone know/have experience of the best way to germinate these please?

I just stick mine in a pot of vermiculite and soil on the windowsill, they generally start to germinate in 4 weeks. It suprised me the first time I grew them I thought they would be difficult.
