This is my friend Renee's picture of Species. She sent me a start this fall since mine croaked last year. Can't wait to have these beauties growing in my yard next year and hope that I can get Butterfly or another pink crossed to it with good results.

Brugie - I have a cross - Logees Species, with the dropped skirt, x Rosamond. Mind you the pods is only about 2 1/2in. long but it took.

Does anyone know how long it takes for a c. Dbl. White pod to mature? I looked at the Dbl White x Butterfly today and it was pollinated on 7/30.
Isn't it killing you Terry, just waiting on that pod. You to Liz. I'm chomping at the bit wanting spring to come so badly. You would have thought today was the day. 50's today and tomorrow. I'll share with you all once I get some size to this one.
You got that right Shirley. I want to get those seeds planted ASAP so they will flower next summer.I had so many seedlings that budded just before frost and I never saw the flowers. Was just too many to bring in.

Day before yesterday, I think it was, I picked a pod of Whiskers X Tropical Sunset. Today I started peeling them and guess what...........not a bean to be found. Empty as could be. Now, that is upsetting. Hope you guys have beans in yours. Especially after waiting so long for the end result.

I'm sure it was critters. I've had several pods that have produced empty seeds.
Oh no Shirley. That's too bad. We've got to figure out how to stop this bug by next year.

Thanks Deb. This is a very pretty brug. I had one for a couple of years, but the second year it quit producing blooms with skirts that drop down and they were deformed looking.
Yes, Terry. We have to figure out how to stop this problem that several of us have had this year. Too many disappointments aren't good on this old woman. :-)
Gee Brugie, you must be so sick of hearing me say this to you this week.......but how did you do that oval picture? Did Renee do it? I had a pic today I needed to do that to and could not figure out how!
That is the same Logees species I received from Logees and it is nothing like their picture in their catalogue. So I sent them my bloom picture of the one they sent me and complained. I think it looks like my candida double stuffed. My skirts can come down to there also. Anyway, they sent me a new one so lets hope it looks like the one in their catalogue and not the one like Renee's again. Do not get me wrong, I love it but I wanted the other one!!
Oh also......... I cut up a big stem that fell in the last storm, so I have tons of these rooting. I promise only promised a couple out so far........

Brugie . . so sorry to hear about your seed pod and I can just imagine how disappointing that must be. Sounds like something very pretty could have came out of that cross. Also wanted to say that on my double white, sometimes the skirt drops and sometimes it does not. For me it depends on the temperatures.
kell, any photoshop or printshop program can make the oval shaped pics for you..you go to the Crop section for photos and do it. :-)

I think now I have four seed pods on my Species...Aurea Pink Hybrid....Versicolor Peach....Old Glory....can't remeber the other one. :)

No, you sent me Old Glory. I don't remember stuff either. I should keep a record of who send what, but I'd either forget to write it down or forget where I wrote it down.
Kell, sometimes the program that comes with a camera will put the frames around pictures too. Mine doesn't, at least I haven't found it anyway. My old scanner program would do this, but it wouldn't work with my new Windows program.

What kind of cuttings do you have? I have been trying to get some type of white Brug...shredded, double, but not just single white. If you have some to share, I would love to do a sase or trade.
