Wintertime blahs..........

Monroe, WI(Zone 4b)

Here is a photo in my g'house.........my contribution for those who are having the winter blahs. I figured it was ok to post it on this forum, since the brugs were blooming. :>) In order to help others with their winter blahs, I think I am going to have a greenhouse party on New Years Day. I'll tell everyone to bring a lawn chair, munchies, and dress for the tropics! (and hope the sun shines so it's the jungle atmosphere in there).

No Anna this didn't help, LOL... I'm GREEN with envy.
Lovely plants! Is this the pig run turned green house? What's the daily temp in there? Are you having to heat much? Thanks for the view it really is beautiful.

Kell, the pink one is my mandevilla. Starting to lose some leaves now, but I think that's to be expected even in a g'house. At least that's what I was told. Still flowering like mad, tho. I pruned the brugs back viciously shortly after this photo was taken, but they're blooming again like crazy. I think I'm getting a handle on the "livestock" up there, the diazanon seems to be working. My zoning hearing is Dec. 30th, but i"m not worried about getting my conditional use permit, since I have the approval of the state zoning person.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

well, good for you Anna. A job well done! Your mandevilla is gorgeous. I think I better move my pink one in to the hoophouse if it is still here tomorrow.

Datdog, yes this is the former hog building. We keep the thermostat set at 55 for the nighttime temp and the daytime varies.....depending on the sun. It can get hot up there, we have the vent fans set at 85 so they will kick on if it gets too hot. WE also put in 2 ceiling fans which I leave on LO at night to just keep the air circulating. If it gets really hot I'll turn them on HI during the day.

Wow Anna that sounds like a great set up you have. Your brugs are beautiful.
