G2S is this an import or a local hybrid? Very nice flowers... :-)

JT, what kind of camera do you have??

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Yes,Madiera has a nice fragrance. Not as powerful as Dr S but sweet.
Tig,I have an inexpensive HP 215.Sold for about 150 when I purchased it.Now under a hundred some places.Uses 4 meg cards.Auto focus and doesn't seem to care how close you get to the subject.I consider it an excellent buy.
Yes Liz,this fleur likes salt water :>)

JT, watch for viruses/fungus on Madiera. The one I have keeps getting deformed leaves and stunted growth. No discoloration of leaves, just crinklie-leaves. Read about this in Preissel book and they stated is is not fatal but I haven't found a cure. Mine came from the same source yours did-I think.

Dripping Springs, TX

Bward--do you know the name of the virus/fungus?

Thanks for the tip Barbara.I will keep an eye on it but so far it is disgustingly healthy. If yours is potted, try mixing equal portions of crushed oyster shell, blood meal and bone meal.Feed her about a cup full worked into the top inch of soil.Water well and stand back. This may not cure virus but it drives it so far into the background that you won't know it's there. It must also have some sunlight of course.Blood and bone meal are available from Wal-Mart.Crushed oyster shell is chicken feed and is available where feed is sold.
I have started using cow manure compost from Walmart. To each bag add 1 1/2 pounds cottonseed meal(blood meal is too expensive),1/2 pound bone meal and 1 1/2 pounds crushed oyster shell.I now use this for just about everything.Seed starting, potting or whatever.I keep the blood meal for special cases. It works FAST.

WOW so pretty and different shape flower new to me.

JT,
Thanks for the info. I have been wanting to add liquid bone meal and found a source and lost it. MS has very acid soil plus the potting soil I use has a lot of peat. I need to have the potting soil tested but it is one of those things I can't get around to doing. Interesting about the chicken feed-didn't know that.
I use blood meal on the plants in the ground and they love it. Thanks for the tips.

Desert_rose, don't know the name. Will try to look it up.
