Four months ago i purchased a 18" high Angeles Trumpet. It is outdoors in a pot and is not rootbound.I live in Southern California.
How often should I water the plant? What type of fertilizer should I use and how often?
I would appreciate your reply as soon as possible.
Thank you

Oh boy! There goes my zone envy again. And Welcome!
A lot of people use Miracle Grow, and if your plant is actively growing all year around outside, you can fertilize it once a week. Osmacote works well too. Once the plant gets bigger it can take a lot more neglect. I understand that they're thriving down there in the equivalent to vacant lots.
plants, you got mail, :-)
I just use 12-12-12 fertilizer and Miracle Grow. Works just fine for me.
Welcome to DG. What I've learned from the others here is that brugs are heavy feeders. I guess because they rebloom continuously. It was suggested by others here (and I did follow this routine this summer) to use a slow release fertilizer and then use miracle grow (or equivalent) every week. Mine bloomed from spring til frost.
if i were in zone 11 i'd put it in the ground, mulch with osmocote, and stand back.
Welcome to you Plantsforever. I'm not sure that it makes a lot of difference in the fertilizer you use, but I am in the habit of using Peters 20-20-20 and Osmocote 14-14-14 mixed into the planting hole. Sometimes when I'm not feeling really lazy, I will top dress with some more Osmocote scratched into the surface soil. Usually only about twice during the summer I will use a bloom booster, but that is all. I've had good luck with this program in Iowa. Hope you see lots of beautiful blooms from your new brug.
Arlene..... isn't that what you do in zone 8b too.....LOL
