Who want Junter Orange rooting..?

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

I have six of it. who want it.. Please email me..

(Zone 7b)

Hi Mini, Is Junter Orange the same as C. Grimaldi or Dr. Seuss or is it a different one?

(Zone 6a)

I'm not Mini, but CG and JO are supposed to be the same....having smooth leaves. Dr. Seuss has serrated leaves.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I received a Dr S as JO last fall. Mini are the leaves serrated or mostly smooth?

Tampa, FL(Zone 9b)

I'll take one...let me know!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I'd give one a good home

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

All rooted are SOLD OUT!!!

TiG.. what is the different smooth or serrated? Inevere learned that LOL.. New to me!

Note:: who sent me the emails.. I got them and I will reply you back with cost of postage..

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm not tiG, but it would be like smooth vs. jagged along the edge. Some say that serrated is like having teeth on the edge of the leaf. Hope this helps.

The Jutner Orange I have is really a Dr Seuss.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Mine are serrated.... JO I have is more orange... I have DR Seuss but it never bloom!!!! :(

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

JO is more orange and Dr.S. is more yellow rich not the same from JO to Dr.S different color.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

yes, they are the same if you got them last fall. The colors just change from summer color to fall color. Jutner Orange is not the correct name for any brug. A nursery decided that they could make more sales if they had an extra name. It's either CG or Dr Seuss.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Really ok thanks tiG, The lady had JO and saw the color and she gave me two cutting it never blooms here so her's had lot blooms and remember the color so got Dr.S from you has great blooms still there more now, I taught it was little different color not know it change from summer to fall so glad to know now... thank you again.

(Zone 6a)

Mini.....if the leaves on yours are serrated, it is my understanding that it is Dr. Seuss.....not Jutner Orange aka CG. From what I am seeing posted, not many folks have the CG.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

hmmm...I have a DS/JO/CG...a couple of them. Are the leaves serrated all the way around to be a DS? I have some that are serrated on one side and perfectly smooth on the other...a cross maybe?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

My CG has smooth leaves on the top of the alley tree but all the new shoots coming up are very serrated. It stays serrated for quite awhile, and then one day I just notice the leaves are no longer serrated.

(Zone 6a)

the older, larger leaves will be serrated on Dr. Seuss and smooth on CG. Young leaves do not tell the story. I got mine as Jutner Orange, but quickly realized they were really Dr. Seuss. I finally got a cutting of CG this fall, but it did not root.....but there is not much difference between them anyway.
If we like it, that is what matters.....but if we send out cuttings, they should be properly named in order to prevent the confusion from spreading:)

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

exactly owen, thanks, thats the reason I even butted in here:)

(Zone 7b)

That's why I asked.. because I love orange but I have Dr. Seuss and a cutting of CG now too so I didn't want to duplicate what I already have or request a cutting that could go to someone else when I already have it. I haven't had CG before but I loved my Dr. Seuss this year. I still need a versi orange though, I'm going to try to buy or trade for that one this spring.

Junter Orange really doesn't exist....correct?

(Zone 6a)

As I understand it, Jutner Orange is just another name for CG. Too many nurseries and people not selling brugs with their correct names makes for confusion......and it is only going to get worse when all the new seedlings start being commercialized.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

I agree Owen. Those plants seem to be so easy to root, to cross pollinate, and now so many people will give individual names to them I wonder if there will be a glut. I've noticed each yr or so there is a "trendy" plant...hope Brugs won't be relegated to that. Such a nice plant! Hope there will one day be a way to retain their purity...at this point in time it looks like we're gonna end up with a bunch of hybrids, and then have no true stock to work with.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

no, we still have the wild forms. Ludger is working on an article on the wildforms for BGI, it should be done soon.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks goodness...I was hoping this wouldn't be a "hybrid vs OP" type thing and we lose the main stock. Guess I better follow the threads more closely and try my best to keep up, eh? :>) (I'll learn, I'll learn...you'll see!)

(Zone 6a)

I'm too old to learn.....will stick with complaining:)

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Mini, congratulations to you and your family on the wee one you expect. Before you get out of bed in the morning, eat a couple of soda crackers. It will really help.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

HI! Now I feel so great and less nausea today! Finally I planted all my rooted cutting in pots, watered my brugs and plants in green house.. It's in 70's and windy now. I wear short, barefoot and t shirt. My brug pod haven't born yet! I went and checked it. It is so thick and hard but still green!
