Well well well.. It's certainly cold here. I came home to break ice. We needed to move another big bale of hay to the cattle. The sheep and goats don't seem to eat their hay as heartily as the cattle. They must still be browsing the fields. I am feeding a little more corn every night. While I was feeding the sheep I was knocked down in the feeding frenzy. I am glad we got the "new" feed bunk at the auction last spring. Wish I could figure out an easier way to get the corn in the bunk without any contact. I have one feeder up against a fence. So that I can be on the other side of the fence and throw it over. That seems to work pretty well.
I was reading something in a farm paper the other day that said they were doing research to prove that bulls with whorls on their top knotch were more fertile than bulls that didn't ... I immediately went out to check my little hereford bull, Flash. No Whorl. I am not going to tell him. Might hurt his ego.
I talked to my best friend last night. She had a big disagreement with two of her adult children. They aren't even speaking now. It's a really long story. I know things were said on both sides that need to be forgiven. My heart goes out to her. Her oldest son and wife are expecting a child in June. She was as excited about it as I have ever seen her. She had even purchased a baby book for it. Now she is afraid they won't even let her see this baby. She needs our prayers.
It is cold here but not snowing. But at my work which is about 30 miles away it was blowing snow. I drove right out of it on my way home from work. What a difference a few miles can make.
Hope everyone stays warm (or if you are Lisa, cool).
