Just potted up about 6 new alley trees to-be, (I hope!!)
I did not have the heart to cut the flower off.
not all my airlayering was for naught
LOL, I am making believe I know what I am doing............ LOL. When I pot up huge cuttings I put a wet plastic bag over its head to try to hydrate the leaves from the outside. Less wilting. Have you used the velcro they are selling to hold plants to stakes and bags closed? so easy, so great!!
And Jeanne, I went to 3 stores including HD and Lowes looking for that giant zipper to no avail. I finally decided to use velcro to close my hoop house. so far so good!!
Oh thanks Jeanne. Lets wait until I see if the velcro fails! So far it is fast and easy to use. but thanks for the offer!
Congrats Kell . . you did a great job on your air-layering. Can't wait to see your alley trees next summer.
Good for you Kell - you're ahead of me - I still haven't airlayered anything.
Kell, very impressive...
looks good Kell!
Kell, here is another place to get a zipper. I tried to email you but my mail won't go out. Keeps telling me that my connection has been terminated. Wish I knew everything there was to know about computers and servers.

Kell, I think that hydrating experiment sounds interesting. So you just cover the flower head with a wet paper bag?
Liz....you better start! Are you going to do ones in the ground or in your GH? It took forever for mine to root, I think I started at least 3 months ago. I think because it was so cool here. My expert gardener friend told me the heat makes it root faster, makes sense. Use foil, it is so much easier!
Thanks Brugie............ I will check it out. I am about to email you.........hope it is working......If not I wanted to commiserate with you about your back. You know I am sure hoping it gets better fast!!!
Hi Roz.......... LOL not a wet paper bag but a plastic bag that I spray the inside with water, drain it and then cover the leaves and close. It gives the effect of a GH over the leaves. Adds humidity. It sure seems to work and helps the big cuttings from wilting too much from the shock of being suddenly cut. I got such a great present in the mail today...........LOL something to wear!!! I must check out your store here on Dave's!!!
Hey everyone, Roz along with her granddaughters, will be selling excellent homemade gifts that would be great for Christmas presents in her Scif store. Hurry up Roz and get it operational!!
Kell, I shut it down; my heart just wasn't in it
oh Roz.......that is too bad!!! The bracelet was great. You had talent!!!
It was the grand daughters who did the work, not me. It was for them, but this is just not the place for them to be involved in any way.
I know what you mean!
