i just love your photo!

Ditto - beautiful shot!

I'm particulary fond of O. dubium as a cut flower for the desk - they last for weeks and weeks (so lazy me doesn't have to wash the vase, etc. ;)

Beautiful color. Had to do a search to see exactly what it was. Another have to get!!

Brugie - seeds are widely available, and they're pretty easy, remembering South African requirements.

Mine stay in soggy clay all summer round, and seem to even like it!

I'm thinking they won't make it here since we get so cold in the winter. Will check to make sure, but probably another one I can't have. My husband lived in Japan for almost two years when he was in the Navy. He loved it there and has many good stories to tell about his friends over there. I wish we could visit before we get too old. I would be a trip of a lifetime for me. Thanks for the note. I did read that they can be grown indoors, so maybe that will have to be the way I get some of these to grow here. Just beautiful.

Can't say 'till you try 'em, eh? :)

Good luck - and if you ever make it to Japan, you can have a few of my smaller offsets!

Thanks. Would love to make that trip. I'm sure Jim would love to go back and see some of his old friends too.

what is it? I mean the common name. Some kind of lily?

I guess that this plant goes dormant . How long do you have to wait until you start watering it again so it will grow and bloom. Anyone know ?? Spectacular blooms

If you scroll down, there was a comment on it's PlantFile to water again in winter.
