Sure is quiet tonight

Hey,
I was just wondering if I was the only one at home tonight...it's so quiet here on the Brug forum.

Hey Gloria, I'm here. Just running back and forth to the kitchen. Just finished baking tiG's Reese's cake. Smells so good I've got to slap my hand to stay out of it.

S,
What's a Reese's cake?

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Yes I agree.. It is quiet here.. I am staying home and cooking cornbread dressing to stuff the turkey.... just finished make and baked the pumpkin pies.. soon to bake the turkey!

(Zone 6a)

I'm here eatin and drinkin and tryin to figger out how to get into some trubble:) LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Mini, I don't have the meal here, just have to fix stuff to take to my BIL. He does all the hard work.

Gloria, the Reese's cake recipe is on the Recipe forum. tiG sent me her frosting recipe too, but it, if the smell means anything, is going to be a great cake. I like peanut butter though and there is a lot of it in my frosting.

I am doing the cook and bring those to my Mom's tomorrow ( two hours drive)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

If I had to do that, I'd rather just have everyone come here to eat. Christmas we go to the BIL's house too. He has a much bigger house and all 20 some of us can fit in there. That also means that I don't have a mess when everyone goes home, right?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

i have it hard...DS made an apple pie, including the crust. i am taking potatoes and pies to my dad's and his new wife's. gonna spend the rest of the weekend digging up brugs and taking cuttings of those i'm leaving in the ground. and now i am off to bed. nite all and hope everyone has a safe and happy day tomorrow.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

I'm here also, just reading and relaxing, work has been stressfull lately with people getting laid off. DH is trucking and off to his mom's tomorrow. Didn't have to cook.

Shirley, missed some big snow last night . . around Port Huron (where your friends are) they got up to 17" of snow from lake effect I heard. We got nothing.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh Deb, I haven't heard from Sherry for a couple of days. Bet they are still shoveling out. They usually get hit pretty hard up there. We had flurries and that was it. Not complaining either. Have a nice peaceful day tomorrow. If you were closer, I would invite you to go with us.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

It is always so pretty after a heavy snow like that. Good time to stay home , get a fire going in the fireplace - snuggle up and watch a movie. Michael should be home in the next 2-3 hrs. Have to check out that cake recipe. Love peanut butter.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

I'm here too after making pies and finishing the stuffing. Whew! Time to sit and relax.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Turkey's in the oven.. Had to cook turkey and others.. My mom couldnt cook or stand too long any more.. due backproblem. We all sis and brothers are bring the dishes.. Let mom rest and enjoy the day.

That's sure a nice thing to do for your Mom, Mini.

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I'm here - feeling the need to stretch out on the livingroom floor and watch a football game. I'm feeling a titch stuffed after reading all your menus for tomorrow.
Good stuffed - now I'll wait for the other good part - leftover turkey sandwiches. YUM !!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

For me it is leftover turkey made into turkey and noodles. Lot of work boiling the carcus, picking the bones, making the noodles, etc, but well worth the finished product.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Brugie, homemade nooodles for your turkey? they are usually so tender. Do you roast your bones first brugie before you boil them?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Nope Kell, I just boil the bones for two hours and strain the broth, pick what meat is still on the bones and usually refrigerate overnight and make the noodles the next day. If I have leftover gravy I add it to the broth too. Very good eating.

YUM Brugie YUM
