Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Oh, earaches are so terrible. I too have to protect my ears in cold weather. Especially wet, windy, cold.
Mary, I'm so glad Can Do likes to travel like that. It will make rides so much more fun. We had one once that must have been part hackney pony. I was always way out in front, then doubled back to meet the rest of the group, then led out again. GOD forbid that I didn't know the way back to base. Heck traveled at least twice as far as the other horses. His flat walk was as fast as many horses could hard trot or slow canter. Quite a little horse.
The main deer season is over here and I think we did something like 7 or 8 deer. All big ones. Not as many does as I would have liked, but at least these big bucks won't be eating our crops next year. We have a 4 day season in December -19th thru the 22nd. Maybe we'll get some more then.
Our farm tenent was in the field at the end of the drive yesterday afternoon spreading fertilizer in preperation for planting corn in that field next year. He is quite conservative with the herbicides and pesticides but isn't skimping with the fertilizers.
Today I think I'll clean up the arched trellis we picked up after Christmas last year. I grew Moon Vine and Chocolate Morning Glories on it this past summer. The Jackimani clematis on one side seems to be doing well but I think I lost the one on the other side. The short ribbon grass at the base of the clematis are ok too. I left the silver rope & the strings of miniture lights on the trellis. I need to see if the lights still work. I sure hope so. I think it will be the only outdoor display we will have this year. We have lights to put on the outside of the front porch but may not mess with them. The green fake evergreen wreath has never been taken out of the porch window so I won't have to rehang it! Nothing slow about me.
I need to get the loaf of zucchini bread made for Shad's little sister. He is going up there with Kyle this afternoon and will be back Sunday or Monday. Anyway, Cindy has reqested that I make her a loaf of zucchini bread. Kris said she made sure that was what she was talking about then offered to make it for Cindy. But Cindy said only her grandmother can make it the way she likes it. What a compliment from her of all my grandchildren. Another granddaughter only wants my cranberry bread each year. Last summer I took the cranberries, nuts, fresh farm eggs, etc. out to VA so I could make her some cranberry bread. She's in back in Korea now with the Army(same base where the 2 Korean girls were killed when they walked out in front of an Army vehicle).
GOD bless and keep each and all of you. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.
