Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Especially those of you who have to get up at 6am to put the bird in the oven.
May you all be graced with good friends and family at your table.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. I started on mine last night baking 4 pies and boiling and peeling my sweet potatoes for the casserole and baking my 4th pan of corn bread this week(I feed it to the birds too!!ssshhh)Seasonings are all chopped, turkeys are thawing, necks boiled and picked. I cleaned and cooked 3 grocery bags of collards with oinon, smoked ham hocks, and fresh pork neck bones on monday and got it in the freezer so all I have to do is take it out and warm it. Working nights is heck during the holidays. I have to start a week ahead of time. Now I'll get the dressing and sweet potatoe casserole put together and ready to stuff the turkey when I get in tomorrow night so I can get a little sleep before everyone gets here LOL. Hubbie will get everything in the oven while I sleep. Wishing everyone the best.
