My favorite and one I've sold many times.
Make your favorite chocolate cake recipe in 8 inch layers. Make a basic white buttercream icing (powdered sugar/Crisco, if you need a good recipe, ask) after it's ready, mix in creamy peanut butter to taste. I like a lot for a strong taste.
Then cover with a ganache.
1 1/2 cups Whipping cream
1 lb chocolate chips
Warm the whipping cream and add the chocolate chips, stirring continually until all of the chips are melted and the icing is very glossy and smooth. Set aside to cool a few minutes. When the icing begins to thicken (this won't take long, about pudding consistency),it can be poured over a cake on a cooling rack. (Put a tray underneath to catch the yummy drippings.) Pour a big puddle onto the center top of cake and lightly push out to sides where it will run over and down the cake. Don't cover the entire cake, the runs are what make it look pretty.
