this is Eric' White hybrid. amidst all the harsh temperature and chaos, it is the lone survivor in the yard. anyone know what specie of brugmansia it belongs to?? thx :)!
sorry the wind is blowing 35 mi/hr. the Santa Ana winds is all over it would seem. yes, i will eventually dig and pot it, so i maybe able to take it when we move next week, hopefully.
still blooming ...
I think it's a suaveolens hybrid.
thanks Bonnie :)!
i should know the mix, it was one of the seedlings i got from eric in summer 2001. i had thought the seedlings were dr s X isabella, and dr suess X EP, and this one would be dr s X isabella. maybe eric would remember or be able to tell. eric was breading for hardiness. i'm glad you still have this one MVR.
arlene, are you talking about Eric's fragrant white??? lots of people have it now;)
yes, i know that tig. but he gave me seedlings that he had not cut on to save cuttings first, i have the mom still in my yard.
tig, my brain still isn't working very well. i know i sent cuttings of it to you and others and others sent it to others. i probably just shouldn't post, obviously i am not making sense.
She is holding up really well in the wind. Can't wait to see pictures of you new yard. Bet you will have so much fun next spring.
no, it's me that gets confused:) I have Eric's white hybrid and Eric's fragrant white, just never could get it clear in my head if they are the same:)
I need to write down your answer so I don't have to ask again!! LOL!!
Thank Ms. Arlene, it sure is an eye opener. love this white brug for it's lovely fragrance.
Brugie soon as we get moved, i definitely will plot the area. i know for sure i will be busy planning next year's garden. could not post photo as yet, till me get move in.
don't feel bad tiG, u get me confused too LOL. that takes the two of us, hopefully when the cuttings u shared will clear the air, and i can see the difference. or did i get a fragrant white cutting???? one thing for sure, Eric's white permeate the air at night. ohhhhh it's so fragrant!!!
MaVie, You've done a wonderful job of growing these in the desert. You deserve a pat on the back. :)
I agree. I don't know how a lot of these gals and guys grow brugs in the sand. Our dirt is so black here, I'd like to import some of the sand, but MVR, you keep the wind there.
Thank you Snow and Brugie :).
i would attribute brug's growth to a lot of steer manure, fertilizer produced by Vigoro fit to use in hot weather. it is called Ultra Vigoro's all purpose plant food 12-5-7, and Shultz 20-20-20 for foliar feeding aided growing brugs to the beauty i have enjoyed in this windy and extremely hot summer temperature.
i would not have attained or enjoyed the brugs graciously growing in the desert, if not for ALL You Wonderful people who had shared ur bounty with me. thank you everyone whose been so kind and had faith in me to grow these lovely brugmansia.
I am so happy that you are moving next week! Take your brugs and run! You are going to be so much happier. I love your pretty brug!
Thank You Kell :). been very busy packing... am almost all set to move. i could hardly wait!!!! am so excited i could hardly wait to get out of here.

Wow! I didn't know all that was going on. I'm so glad you found a new place :) How exciting! It will be so much fun for you to start planting that new yard. Glad to know things are looking better for you.
thanks Poppysue :)! am really looking forward to move and have a nice garden with plenty of room to plant. looking forward for next planting season.
Well MaVie ... when you're ready let me know and I will send you a "garden warming" box. I'm going to drasticly thin & cull some perennilas next year. I really have missed my annuals the past couple of years and I want make some room. Sometimes I wish I could start over from a clean slate. I'm sure you'll have a blast designing and planting yours. You do so well with your conatiners I bet your garden will be fabulous! :)
ma vie, your brug looks great!! dig her up and run to your new home lol. i am very happy that you are moving next week.
thank u Poppysue :). i surely do enjoy planting on the ground. designing plant would be a great challenge, but there is nothing impossible, if one is determined to make it happen.
Nancy, above everyone else, i am overly eager to get out of here. am looking forward to the next growing season. almost all plants are potted and ready to go. i betcha those plants are eager to go too cause they know they will have the freedom to grow on the ground for a change LOL!
