Ok, I did it. I had a seed pod since July and today I just couldn't stand it. I took it off and slit it. Seeds inside were huge, but all white. Was this a mistake?? I left another on just in case... Tell me I can plant them....
seed pod mistake?
You can try to sow, somtimes white seeds will germinate.
Better germination you will have from brown seeds.

sarv . . where is Caledonia? Plant them, you never know. Good luck with them.
Oh, she sounds like me!!! First you should take a scapel or razor and make a little slit in the pod!! That way, you don't prematurely pick the pod.(Actually, you should leave it alone till the penduncle turns yellow) Go ahead and plant the seeds, I've had white ones to germinate.
Waterloolily - Caledonia is just south of Grand Rapids - are we neighbors? I am going to plant some of the seeds - just because they look so healthy!! If I do decided to sneak a peak at other pods, do I put something over the hole?? (I always peeked at Christmas presents too!)
Sarv, boy did you come to the right brug forum to ask that question!! I'm the queen of peekers!! Last year almost every pod had a little slit in it!! I found a wonderful product called New Skin, but found Elmers glue works great too. I've also carefully made a little slit and let it heal on it's own, no problems at all, just don't "peek" inside that particular pod too many times or the cut will never heal, sort of like mom saying "don't pick it or it will never heal".
Sarv, we are about 1 hr. to 1 1/2 hrs away from each other. Not far at all. Good luck with your seeds. What is your cross?
have no idea what the cross is - I love anything, so I will be happy with whatever grows!! I have elmers glue sitting right by the brug now!!
