i've had flu since friday, affecting brain, muscles and GI tract. spent all day in bed yesterday. had frozen brug leaves this morning, not all, but they were definitely frozen. the forecast was for mid 30s the last time i had looked. had light frost in the open part of the yard. will know in a few hours i guess what the damage is.

We had our first killing frost Friday night.Someone said,last year,that the banana trees looked like a war zone.

Get well soon,Arlene. No fun being sick is it? Your brugs are probably okay with slight damage. Mine have gotten frost for two nights and it only damaged some of the upper leaves. The blooms look okay. Surely yours won't be worse than mine, as your further south.

Arlene--I'm sorry your ill. I can't believe you got frost already. We haven't even got any here--yet. I've done the same thing--- the weather person says it will only get close to freezing & I leave plants out-- then oh no! Let us know how the babies are.
Poor baby!! I hope you are doing what I told you to do..........drinking plenty of fluids, doing no work at all, staying warm and snugly, and only thinking happy thoughts...............

thanks, all. it is so warm here now, almost 70. i'm feeling better but still strange. don't think there's any serious damage. will get some more in pots this week for the next hard frost. HG bud fell off, will get that in a pot right away and probably inside.
