The Brugmansias and Daturas photo contest of 2002 has ended, and the judges have made their final decision on the winners.
We had 284 pictures submitted this year by 42 members, and I know what a difficult job it is to judge such a tremendous amount of pictures, especially when they were all so beautiful. Nevertheless, Brugie, Hibiscus, and tiG somehow managed to work through them all and come to an agreement on the winners of the four categories, as well as 2 honorable mentions. The judges comments are below:
Note from Brugie: "So many pictures made coming up with winners a little tough. They were all excellent and each one deserves to be a winner. A couple of the winning photos were selected not only for the brug in the picture but the scenery or visual effects included. Congratulations to all the winners from the judges."
Note from Hibiscus: "This was a lot of fun to do, but very hard decisions to make. Wish all of you could have won, so many really good pictures of beautiful brugs. Thanks to all who entered."
Note from tiG: "I just want to congratulate all the winners! This was a daunting task, so many beautiful pictures to choose from. So many times I got distracted from the task just from the beauty of these plants that have brought us all together. I enjoyed it a bunch!"
