I have several pictures of leaf damage. Each is caused by something different. I'll post them all in this thread. 10pts for each correct answer, lol. The first problem is a leaf with yellow stippling on it. There is a tiny spot of fungus, that isn't the main problem. What is?
New lesson/leaf damage
Nope.
Whiteflies?
to much water not enough food?
I guess Cala didnot serve you up this disease du jour Jeanne!!!
I say it is from the weather changing............... it has stressed the leave.
chemical spray?
I don't have a clue.
spider mites?
gotta be
Yep, you both get 10 pts. I searched high and low and finally found them. These were just webs left behind. Couldn't find a live spider mite which means my spray program is working so far. Gonna hit them again today just in case. To check for live mites, take a sheet of copy paper, hold under the leaf, flick the leaf with your fingers, the mites look like specks of dirt crawling on the paper. You can take a hand lens and then tell if they are red spider mites or two spotted mites.
I have no clue but this is great Cala! Sure helps us that just don't know that stuff!
Well, the little wormy thing is poo, not caterpillar poo though. But the poo is the clue(hey, I rhymed!!)
Weeds, since I don't have many blooms to post right now, thought I'd take this slow time and show some possible problems and their symptoms.
When I had some of my leaves like this I found one of those green worm thingies on mine.
OK, guess I will have to give you another hint, lol. Caterpillar poo is round, little pellet like thingies, lots of it usually. This is snail poo, it's like a little wormie thingie, not pellets. That's how you know if it was a cat or a snail that did the deed. Then you know what to use to kill them.
How do our brugs manage to find all these critters, who love to eat "poison"???
Snails are a constant problem. I put out bait, they eat it and more take their place. These leaves were against the side of the gh, where it's moist and snails love moist, shady conditions. Here is the next symptom that is manifested by leaf yellowing. What caused this? Is it a disease? Cultural problem? There are lots of these yellow leaves, only on one plant, older leaves only. No apparent insect problems. What did I do to this plant? I know, do you?
Ironite? Didn't like it. Is that the one?
Lack of water at one point...?
Gee, Cala, I am never going to catch up to Smart Jeanne if you give the answers so quickly! I was going to cry about the difference in time zones but Jeanne is in mine I think......LOL. I guess the early bird does get the worm!
Anyway, if there is anything I know, I know snail poop............
Ok on this one, I agree with CC......when I do not water my brugs when they are thirsty and let them wilt, when rehydrated some of the leaves turn yellow and they drop!!
I've never seen snail poop,I haven't seen a snail in 20 years.....(except in the pond)
Do they make good pets?
CC, I will send you tons, and let you see for yourself!! LOL. I wonder if your chicks would eat them? I think I read that on Dave's awhile back that they do.
I am about to go out and see if your pollen is made yet.

I agree ,too small of a pot
SAD,I have some that look like that......
It's not the size of the pot, well not directly. It would be bigger if the pot were bigger. Here are it's symptoms: slightly droopy, soil is slightly damp, roots are nice and white, leaves turning color. What did I do to this poor little brug? It's completely preventable.
Too much water or lack of iron?

Not enough sunlight?
not even close. Does anyone want to know what the temp got down to?
It doesent look like it froze,my brugs that were frost damaged last spring looked dark
It didn't freeze, but it got really chilled. It makes them droopy and the leaves will yellow and fall sometimes.
oh............once again you are too quick Cala..........but in truth I was going to say not enough nitrogen!!
these are such fun!!
