I came to the garden alone, while the dew was still fresh on the roses......Why can't we all go back, a couple of months ago, when we all got along, loved our plants, enjoyed each others pictures, and generally had a great time in each others company. I don't think this battle is getting any where. It doesn't matter what group you are involved with outside of DG. I haven't been here long, but I have met some great people, and all of you have been friends for a long time. I miss all my friends getting along, I miss all the fun. Please forgive and forget! Lets play in the dirt!!!!!!! Your Friend, Tracey
I Came to The Garden
where have you been hiding that gorgeous pick? i love the sage too. do not fret, we are almost back to normal again. do you have more pics you've been holding out on us? would love to see them. reminds me of my place, sages growing around brugs.
Amen Tracey. Couldn't agree more. Beautiful picture!!
I agree Tracey, and this is a great picture. Kell, do you have this one in your collection of pinks? :-)
Tracey, I agree with Arlene, you've been holding out on us!! That is gorgeous.
Thanks for the compliment. It is the smallest E.Pink, maybe 3 or 3 1/2', but it bloomed real nice the last flush. This is my last picture for the season, took it right before everything got moved. Arlene, I love to watch the hummingbirds try to guard the salvia, I have red flowers everywhere, but they went to the blue species first everymorning.
wow Tracey, thanks for bringing that to us, both the message and the picture!!!
We get along Tracey.....just agree to disagree once in awhile:)
Arlene, I sent you some blue salvia, the hummers love guaranitica better than any red in my whole garden. They fight over it all summer.
Dear Tracey,
I have learned stay out of arguements. And removed from people who find that important.
I encourage others to do same and get along.
I felt especially bad lately about Owen.
Life is just not long enough to not get along. We should not lost ourselves and our enjoyment of friendships
and the beautiful things we grow to petty disagreements. Each day is precious.
Great photo!! Hope Dave choses for photo of the day ;-)
Better still ..submit to PDB??
This one definitely belongs there (o:
Thanks for sharing your wisdom beyond most people.
And also your lovely photo to brighten this day (o:

Beautiful Tracey!
Tracey, from time to time some of us get out of sorts, then we get over it. as my DD told me when she was 5, that's how familys go......
We were acting just like a bunch of cousins weren't we?(with a few aunts and uncles thrown in there)
This is so nice. I've missed our happy family.
There were 8 of us, so I am used to fussing, my Dad was always the peace maker (sometimes by force, ouch), miss him. I just can't wait to get here everyday before work and after, to see what everyone is doing, the last few days were not fun. I thought for a minute my crazy cousins had come to visit. Now all is getting back to normal, except I suspect there are lots of hangovers this morning from the party at Cala's, MaVie bartending and all, did anyone check to see if Brugie slid under her computer? Mudslides are dangerous. Kell is singing and smoking, what fun! I can't wait to here her carol, come up with some good brug-Christmas songs will you Kell? huh, please?
Beautiful picture and a wonderful message indeed. Its hard to see whats what sometimes.
LOL Tracey............ I never smoked at the party!!! I swear! I am shocked that so many of you still smoke. I quit at least 10 years ago and that is 1 vice I never will go back to!! Now drinking is another story!! LOL
You have been such a sweetheart to me these last days. I am so glad you are my friend! I will have to come up with a tune or 2. Maybe Tonny will help me! LOL
I just adore that photo. Perfect in every way. Like you are!...............ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
You are such a sweet heart, I really enjoy your sense of humor, I love to laugh and you really have a way of making me do that. I am also proud to call you a friend. I can't wait to hear you sing, hoping Tonny joins in, too! That would be fun!
If I would learn to preview I wouldn't have to correct my spelling....

kell, I need to ask you something. I quit smoking 6 weeks ago, cold turkey. How long before you don't even think about smoking anymore?
Gnomey,
I'm not Kelley but maybe this will help a little.
I quit smoking three plus years ago and today was one of those days that I wanted a cigarette....the urge to smoke only lasted about 5 minutes but it does still come and go. After smoking for 30 years I too just laid them down and never picked them up again. I must tell you I gained 25lbs and still growing. LOL
good for you gnomey and good for you glory!
I would not even think in those terms Gnomey........... just take it day by day. And I promise every day it gets easier and easier and then one day you will smell someone's smoke and realize that instead of inhaling deeply you find that it is sickening!!
also the worst is over!!! 6 weeks out and you have it made.
Just remember you can never even have 1 puff ever ever ever!!! And soon you will not even want one!!
My only regret is that I did not quit much earlier in my life. Everyone will have to quit sometime in their life, and go thru the misery of leaving such a close friend behind, so you might as well do it earlier before it has damaged your health so much.
good luck!! and if you ever feel weak......email me and I will give you a pep talk!!! LOL
If there ever comes a day when you can quit smoking without gaining weight let me know I will be first on the list to try. I already gained 75 lbs after a upper back/neck injury so I continue to puff away.
Donna........oh I am so sorry. You must be in alot of pain. I have low back problems so I know about pain. All I can tell you is that supposedly most people do gain weight but then most lose it once they get over the hump. Of course I am still on the incline.....LOL do you think I can still blame quitting smoking even after 10 years??
You get used to a certain amount of pain after so long. As long as i don't over do it I am fine. I gained all my weight because of the stupid steroid shots they gave me for 8 years. I refuse to take any more and haven't for 4 years now. When or if it gets unbearable they will do surgery. I have not found a pain pill I could take yet and refuse to take any of these new ones that are so addicting. It's 3 disk in my neck and affects my arm, wrist and hands as well, but now my foot has been asleep for a week so now they think was lower back is messed up. Waiting on x-ray results now and taking steroid pills again. I think my lower back is just tired of toteing this lard butt around!!!!!!!!!! I hope thats all it is.
Glory and kell, thanks for the encouragement. At times it's still difficult because my sister who lives with me still smokes, but she is trying to be considerate and goes outside *most* of the time. Her bedroom still smells like an ashtray though, funny how I never noticed that when I smelled that way too!
DonnaB, I'm sorry to hear about you being in so much pain. That is really awful and if I were in a lot of pain I don't think it would have been the right time for me to try to quit.
As for the weight gain.. I noticed immediately that instead of smoking I was eating non-stop so I went on a diet and started exercising as well. I've lost 5 pounds so far but dieting while trying to quit was the hardest thing about it. As long as I had food to replace the cigs I was ok... but then I went to the Dr. with my dad and we found out my dad is diabetic soooo it made the decision to diet easier. Now I consider the diet a matter of life and death even more than the smoking.
Didn't mean to write a book here! Just wanted to say thanks & kell, I may take you up on the pep talk!
I quit smoking 17 yrs. ago, over a period of about a week, when my lungs hurt so badly that I knew I would die if I continued to smoke.....I mean they hurt like you would not believe! I felt all tingly and like I was in never never land for a few weeks, but it was worth it. My wife puffed on her last cancer stick just before she reached the hospital with pulmonary edema six years ago.
Still though, we do gain weight when we don't smoke....guess we are gonna die one way or the other:) Shame though that cigarette smoking is so "kewl". And alcohol also, I might add:) I think we should die from boredom. LOL
LOL Owen.............. you are too funny!
