This is what some plant catalogs sell as Holy Basil. It is as far as I can tell a hybrid between O. canum x basilicum. This plant only shares some similarities with Holy Basil and flavor isn't one of them.

I too purchased holy basil seeds from 2 different online shops. The seeds in both packets were black in color.
I sowed them and plants also were similar.
Now that they are big , I have some doubts if they are holy basil.
can I send you a picture of my plants and can you confirm whether they are holy basil or the above basil.
