I started a post, then went back to look at the picture again and lost it all. The picture looks like my plant, except that mine has lost its varigation though the leaves still have a distinct rib. Some years ago I cut the top off a houseplant, variegated corn plant I thought, and planted it in a flowerbed, throwing out the original plant. It has overwintered and I put an "unid" tag there as I had forgotten what it was. Last summer it bloomed. I took a picture of it to my senior garden club and no one knew what it was and everyone said that corn houseplants didn't bloom. It's blooming again now. The bloom stalk is about a foot tall and doesn't have a scent, though it looks like the picture--little off-white blossoms lining the bloom stalk. It dies to the ground every winter but comes back. I don't have luck with houseplants as I don't have a good place for them. I know a lot about outdoor plants but not much about houseplants. I live in the same area as the woman who posted the picture. I'd appreciate your thoughts.
