It is the first time this Brug is flowering in my GH.
Hopefully a sanguinea( which is Liz´s Aurora) will open a flower tomorrow. I will pollinate the sang with this Flava.

Flava lila-rosa
that is so beautiful, wish it would grow here.
Oh My!! Very nice for sure.
WOW!
Ludger, that is beautiful. I know you are enjoying them
So pretty . . I also wish that I could grow them where I am but it is just too hot for them.
Isn't it a sin to covent? Beautiful doesn't seem quite enough to say.
OH MY GOODNESS........... this is the one I must have!!! Is this one in the states?
Is it hard to grow Ludger? Boy, you and Arlene sure are making this a fun Saturday!
I love the shape of that one!!
I got a very small cutting in April. It´s growing very slowly.
Kell you are very welcome, smile, I like to sweet up your Saturday....lol
GL
Vulcanicola would be a great choice to cross to this one too!
Now if we could just get them heat tolerant! :-)
Eclipse,
this flava seems to be tolerant to heat if there is humid.
I had this small brug in GH during summer too. It was very hot in the GH but also very humid.
This flava has much vulvanicola in itsself. The leafes are very similar to "Vulcanstaub".
I think it would be better to cross it with sanguinea or arborea.
More vulvanicolagenes back to this Brug...I don´t know.
My be my Vulcanstaub will flower soon, I will try it.

So pretty . . . .
Aurora has an seedpod, pollinated with Flava lila rosa.

What type is Aurora?... a flava also? Or a Sang? Congrats on the pod!

Ludger- WOW! I thought Lila Rosa was a myth! I am very impressed to see yours is healthy.
Can you tell us a little more about the plant? I also think you made a good choice with Aurora, and Liz will be thrilled.
Lila Rosa is a very very slow grower.Very sensitive.I only have one small plant.Until today I could not get cuttings because it is growing slowly.
I very hope it will survive and I can give you more informations about it in some months.
GL
Ludger it is so beautiful. I do hope you or Liz or anyone working with them can get us southerners a heat tolerant Sang.
I have some small sangs which showed a good and healthy growing last summer, also some arborea x ".." crosses.
Other sangs I have gotten from Dutch nurseries became very ill in hot summer. The small sang seedlings and arborea x crosses kept darkgreen and good grow.
GL
I have 2 arborea x lila-Rose pods and 1 lila-Rose x arborea pod. They are still small so i'm hopeing they stay on long enough to ripen!
Bruno
Good Yob Bruno,
hopefully you will get ripe them.Wish you much luck.
GL
Ludger, u sure got a beauty on this one! i love the shape and pastel color. do u think when the weather gets warmer the color will change to a darker shade? just wondering...
No MaVie,
most sangs and flavas will turn paler when the temperatures gets warmer.
This is really something to see! Thanks for such a lovely photo. Great job. Kristi
Thank You Ludger... that is nice to know! indeed it is such a beauty. thanks for sharing. it definitely one that must be had in the U.S. :)!
Ludger do you have an idea how this cultivar was made, do you know it's background?
Thanks.
Dennis,
I dont know the background,sorry.
My idea: It is a backcross with the old Lilac and a flava x vulcanicola. ( two or three generations cross here and there...) the leaves from Lila- Rosa and the growing are telling stories...lol. Much vulcanicola in. In my eyes it is not an Flava but a vulcanicola cross....I am not the breeder this is Dr Preissel from Herrenhäuser Gärten.
I was told that he dont like to have contact with private Hybridizisers...knowing this I am trying to find answereres by myself. I cross as long as I know what I want to know.
I also have cracked his HG,lol. The seedlings will replay some questions.
Greetings
Ludger
Ludger, can you explain more about your leaf comment?
What did you mean about cracked his HG? Do you mean because no one can seem to get it to bloom? I have a nice HG with y's. Sure hoping to get it to bloom for me!
Sorry, me and Liz ask so many questions.....
really you 2.......are you the FBI?
