IslandJim I've seen this in other colors--Reddish and white/lavender. Do you know how many colors there are?

I suspect they are easy to grow. This one was at the tropical plant sale at selby botanical garden; it was already sold or it would be mine. Don't know about other colors; this is the first one I've seen.

I had one last year and it died, or I killed it. There is a white faced one also. I love Selby, have only been there once but would love to go back!

This plant looks like a great companion to the Voodoo Lily
I saw on ebay. Just purchased seeds form it and can't wait to see if I can grow it!! This bat flowers' color seems to match the color of pic I saw of Voodoo lily.

Hi Guys, here in Va, these are pretty hard to grow. They require alot of humidity. If you you had a bathroom that only received about 80 Percent light that would be probabaly be the way to go. I own one and of course do not have a window in my bathroom. Because they are from the rainforest little light and high humidity is needed. Mine is still alive (knock on wood). I keep getting knew leaves but have yet to see it bloom. The leaves also for me turn brown on the edges. I only give them spring water so not to add any other chemicals. Rain water would be best but I havn't done that yet. I have it sitting in a tray with gravel and water in the tray to provide it with more moisture. Misting them is not reccomended, it allows spurs to enter through the leaves that way. If anyone has any other hints please let me know. I bought mine off of ebay already growing. Have not tried seeds. Let me know how that goes. Thanks, Pamzilla
